Over the summer our web merchandiser got married, and I’m so excited to finally share some photos with you! I absolutely love all the little personal touches in these photos… from the bridal party’s menswear shirts when getting ready, to the Free People display elements at the reception. Not only was the wedding incredibly beautiful (the location is breathtaking) but it looks like everyone there truly had a blast. Read on for photos and some quotes from the bride herself!
We always love seeing wedding photos, so if you want to share your special day with us feel free to send us an email at blog@freepeople.com, we would love to see!
“Being in an open, free space allows you to create your own story and make the event feel 100% your own. I’m not someone who has always dreamed about my wedding, in fact, I didn’t even think I would wear a wedding dress (and ended up in a giant princess ballgown, of course) — I just wanted to kiss Braden, dance with my dad and see my mom smile. I wanted Braden to hear me tell him that his confidence, patience and thoughtfulness inspires me and that he makes me feel safe. I wanted him to hear me promise that every night, for the rest of my life, I would go to sleep loving him. I wanted my brothers to see me in a wedding dress, for my friends to go crazy dancing to middle school throwbacks and for everyone to eat some of the best food they’d ever had.”
“When Braden and I first met, we went to my cousin’s outdoor wedding that was in a big tent in their backyard in Easton, Maryland. It was the first time Braden met my whole family and funny enough, it was the same weekend as our wedding turned out to be, 6 years earlier (and also my parents’ wedding anniversary!). Their wedding was fun, laid-back, and just happy — we knew we wanted the same.”
“As far as the colors go, I wanted the wedding to feel very natural and whimsical, which is why we incorporated succulents and wildflowers. The Free People spring display Hanging Bunches made me smile when I saw them — they are fun, carefree and happy, which is the feeling I wanted to create at the wedding. I loved the juxtaposition of the pop colors (pinks and oranges) against the old wooden shed and natural landscape.”
“The event was magical and there is no other word to describe it. The wedding came at a time when my family needed happiness, strength, and hope more than we ever have before. From the hundreds of lightning bugs lighting up the sky (and watching the little kids run around trying to catch them at dusk), to the biggest smile I’ve ever seen on my mom’s face to the incredible super moon, I’ve learned that the universe finds a way to give you what you need. For reasons bigger than the wedding, my family, Braden and I needed hope and strength. We needed to laugh. A lot. And we did — I learned that a wedding is so much more than a dress and a beautiful Sperry tent and the perfect bouquet, but it is about all of your favorite people coming together to make you smile, laugh, cry and enjoy one of the biggest and best moments in life.”

Beautiful! I want to see a closer picture of what the bridesmaids are wearing though. Are they button ups? I can’t tell but I like the idea.
