Wanderlust Inspiration: Captured Moments Revisited

Seeing the behind-the-scenes images from our catalog shoot in Iceland has really got me thinking. I look at those images, and I get a fleeting desire to just go. The vast openness and beautiful landscape that is all-surrounding makes me want to be there — right out in that openness — and not do anything else but just stand and stare and take in the beauty of mother nature. I love that a photograph has the ability to evoke such a craving.

Photographs, for me, are some the most valuable things in life. The instant my eyes lock on an old picture, all of the memories from that exact time come rushing back to me. I remember the people I was with and exactly where I was. Remembering back to those past times stirs up a lot of emotions inside of me. Some good and some bad, but that’s the amazing thing about it all. You can feel the moment again.

Getting a glimpse of Iceland made me think back to some of the most beautiful places I’ve encountered so far in life. I got home the other night after work and spent hours revisiting pictures that I have taken over the years in those places. The notes of nostalgia I experienced were high, and it really made me appreciate the people I was with and the places I got to see.

Next time you have some time to spare, revisit some old photos that are special to you. Whether it’s from a trip or even just of a night out, it’s fun to relive old moments and remember good times. You never know what you might be inspired to do because of it.
