There’s nothing like walking into a home that’s filled with the scent of freshly cut pine. One of my favorite parts of the holidays is going back to my childhood house, and taking that first step inside to be greeted by the glow of little white lights and the potent aroma floating throughout from our Christmas tree in the corner. For those of us who celebrate Christmas, it’s quite a tradition to rally up loved ones and take a trip to pick out the perfect tree. I remember when I was younger, my family and I would race to see who could find the best one. My favorite trees were always the mid-sized fat ones; not too tall, but full and lush with lots of branches to decorate.
This year, on the first heavy snow of the season, my friends and I headed out to a local Christmas tree farm. There’s something so magical about walking through a maze of trees, snow falling all around, and taking in the white silence that surrounds. We danced in the firs, sipped hot chocolate and relished in the holiday spirit.
If you are looking to buy a tree this year, try visiting a local Christmas tree farm to pick one out and make a day of it.

Pine doesn’t have a scent and those aren’t pine trees! It is Balsam Fir that you are smelling.
Okay, I have to know: What is the FP secret to taking seriously gorgeous photos? Because I have tried and failed and you guys just keep knocking it out of the park. Teach me your ways!
