DIY Alternative Christmas Tree

I’ve always felt that the holidays just wouldn’t feel right without a Christmas tree… but that doesn’t mean it has to be a typical tree. Some of us just don’t have the space to fit a large evergreen in our homes — and coming up with creative ways to make an alternative tree is just so much fun. This year we’ve created a “tree” using bits of nature collected from the outside, along with some other fun things. Allow this to serve as inspiration for your own alternative tree, and then tell us: What would you include in yours?

I started my tree with a piece from an evergreen — it seemed really fitting for the top of my tree. Using just a simple piece of masking tape, I secured it to a wall.

The other bloggers and I thought it would be fun to include some tarot cards, old photographs, and book pages that have separated over the years.

Oh, I actually wish I had seen this two days earlier. Fortunately, I have a small tree, but something hanging on the wall would have been better. Unfortunately, I was in too much of a hurry. Friends are coming from out of town this weekend and we are doing our gift exchange Saturday! What fun! I am definitely bookmarking this for next year though.
