One of my most treasured beats for happy ears and moving feet. Other Lives, a band hailing from Stillwater Oklahoma, has that ability to sink you deep into personal thought whilst, simultaneously, plastering a smile across your face and forcing you to jump in a car and take a road trip. This song in particular, “For 12” was a summer staple for my senses. I blasted it through our VW bus as we drove to and fro, back and forth on the highways of California’s coastal lands. Opening for Bon Iver and Radiohead in the past, they’ve certainly gained esteem over the years. I fell in love with their rhythmic “galloping” tunes during last year’s Coachella, and I hope you enjoy also. If you know and love them already… do just that… leave some love!

Listen to the whole album “Tamer Animals” here.
I’ve been obsessed with this band all year as well (my husband and I also listened to this album in our ’71 VW bus). I had the pleasure of seeing them live in Philly! If only more people knew about this amazing band…
me too! this band obviously belongs to old VW busses. We have been blasting this band in our 75’… amazing!
Turns out… this also helps unwind unclick, bring down uptight shoulders mustered and stuck from long tense days too. Couldn’t get myself to just ‘let go’ tonight… this distracted and took me along enough to do so. Never mind the beautiful musicalities themselves being gorgeous too. Thank you for this perfectly timed share! xx
