Imagine reaching into your favorite bag… the one you carry with you more often than not, and pulling out nothing but homemade goodness. A deliciously fragrant perfume you concocted the night before, a face serum you mixed up right before leaving the house in case the cold winter air dries out your skin, a hand-bound journal that lets you keep track of those sudden ideas and houses your magnificent tiny doodles.
What is it about homemade anything that has me in such adoration? Maybe it’s the fact that I know exactly what everything’s made of, or the way I’m able to customize each item to my liking, or that each one has it has a certain uniqueness to it. Homemade products make me feel a certain connection to them, as silly as it sounds. They make me feel at home. This year, I’m resolving to use more of my own creations. Now and forever. Will you do the same?
If you’d like to do the same, here’s how to make your own solid perfume, tea blends, lip balm, overnight face treatments, and lavender cooling lotion. They’re all so easy to make, I promise!
The bag pictured is the Louella Saddle Bag.
