Boho Wedding Inspiration

We’ve gotten so many gorgeous wedding submissions it’s getting hard to keep up!  This submission comes from reader Sarah, who almost exactly a year ago shared her sweet engagement story with us, so I was so excited to see the stunning images from her big day.  She also shared some beautiful words describing the wedding, which you can read below.  I love that her bridesmaids each wore the Voile and Lace Slip in different colors, styled in their own ways! Can you imagine a more comfortable bridesmaid dress?

As I was emerged in the hectic planning and dreams of the perfect day, I learned a beautiful life lesson.  I learned that weddings are not at all about the bride’s “perfect day.”  Weddings are simply a celebration between lovers, family, and friends.  Anything more than that is an unnecessary excess.  As I watched my dreams fall quickly into place I was amazed at how much I needed my friends and family to make this dreamy wedding possible.  I saw how tirelessly they worked to hang decor, to unload bales of hay, and to arrange flowers.  As I was watching this wonderful picture unfold, I also witnessed my “perfect day” falling apart.  The threat of rain and humid, 94 degree weather didn’t allow for the reception to be held under the hemlocks by the river as I had envisioned.  At first I was devastated.  Then I took another hard look around me and I saw the selfless efforts of my friends and family, still working without breaks just to make the day “perfect” for me.  That’s when I realized that the perfect day for me wasn’t about the outdoor dining, the campfires and s’mores bar, or the blankets along the riverside.  It was the celebration between lovers, family, and friends.  

I saw my husband’s face explode with the biggest smile I had ever seen as I walked down the aisle.  I hugged my daddy tightly as he gave me away. I saw my brother usher my lovely mom down the aisle with dirt still under his fingernails from last minute flower planting.  I heard my close friends make beautiful music for the ceremony next to the slow flowing river.  I kissed my husband while confetti exploded around us.  I shared a huge meal with those I love most.  Those little things, not the decor or atmosphere, are the details that made my wedding day PERFECT.  What a blessing to have my lover, family, and friends!
