11 FP Me girls. 3 of our most-loved styles. 2 great cities.
Here at Free People, the east coast is home, but we also can’t ignore our undying love for the west coast. We are endlessly inspired by the street style on both coasts, each providing such a different styling perspective and attitude. This time of year especially offers such a difference in temperature that you really get to see the variety from coast to coast. We thought… wouldn’t it be cool to see how our FP Me girls style the same pieces, on different coasts? And so that’s just what we did. We gathered up some of our amazing FP Me users in the New York City and Los Angeles regions, and brought them all together on their respective coast for a day of styling and shooting. These girls are so inspiring to be around, and each bring such a unique personality to their looks! We had a blast, and hope to do more like this soon :). Thank you ladies for a wonderful day!
East Coast
My style in three words: Casual grunge chic.
About my looks: Layers layers and layers. Not because it was 9 degrees outside during the shoot, and not because layers are totally in right now, but because I had the opportunity to wear WHATEVER pieces I wanted from Free People for 3 looks. I obviously couldn’t JUST choose a few, so I layered on as many as I could. My favorite piece, the tulle slip, literally looked good with everything I paired it with!

My style in three words: Constantly evolving boho-chic.
About my looks: The looks I styled were put together using a mix of basic + statement pieces mainly from the Liquid Gold and Rebel Rising trend collections. When putting together outfits I always start with the basics and slowly work in the layers and accessories to create a simple yet impactful look. My style is constantly evolving so I find it most important to invest in the basics, as I know I’ll never get tired of them. Then, depending on the season/what I feel is trendy, I build my outfits to completely change the look and feel of the basic pieces.

My style in three words: Old, new, changing.
About my looks: I’m currently obsessed with plaid (and forever obsessed with hats) so I incorporated plaid into one look, and another was Victorian inspired with a flowy elegant silhouette.

Brittany, Venice Beach, California
My style in three words: City-meets-beach-bum, unexpected, playful.
About my looks: I love layers… In LA, the weather can drop 15 degrees, so it’s smart to have a jacket with you. Ive been obsessed with layering flowy tops with pants, because it adds a playful and fun element to your outfit. The top opened up at the bottom, so you could see the high waist of the pants, elongating my legs, and showing off their perfect fit. I loved the black slip dress — it was so versatile. I chose to make it a little tighter around my waist with a belt, wear tons of bold jewels to add color, and I couldn’t resist throwing on a matching blue beanie to give the dress an unexpected, laid back twist. I live by the beach, so I like wearing scarves and knitted throws like this one, to flow in the wind and add movement to my presence.

I just learned two things about myself:
1. I apparently need to move to the West Coast

Love how it came together!!!! It’s so interesting to see how everyone styled the same pieces differently to match their personal style. It was so much fun being apart of it.
