zodiac sign illustrationAQUARIUS

January 20–February 18

When the sun in Aquarius quarrels with Saturn in your ambition angle this week, professional responsibility or commitment to goals could box you in. The sun and Mercury later harmonize with Mars in your adventure zone, so expansive experiences are within reach. Pursue anything that gets you out of your daily routine and teaches you. Participate in activities that lift your spirits and boost your energy. Stretch your boundaries. With mental Mercury backing into your sign, it’s time to examine your attitude about trying new things and meeting new people. Look at how you typically engage with people and your environment. Reflect on your core identity as well as the persona others pick up on. A full moon in your relationship angle on Valentine’s Day brings romance, drama or a memorable night. Make an effort to get out and to balance your energy with the feelings and needs of whomever you’re with.

zodiac sign illustrationPISCES

February 19–March 20

Retrograde Mercury leaves Pisces this week, entering your subconscious sector and encouraging you to recall dreams, reflect on your spirituality, reexamine things you’ve pushed to the back of your mind, think about the ways you undermine yourself, revisit secrets and sides of yourself you’ve repressed and retreat into your imagination. You’re finding it difficult to summon an optimistic vision of the future with constricting Saturn in your perspective house, and when he challenges the full moon in your efficiency zone, doubts about a shift taking place with your job, health or daily routine may arise. The need to be useful and good at something is contrasted with the pull to withdraw from the world. Listen to your intuition. Confront the parts of your psyche that keep you from flourishing. Connect with people who empower you. Research something that you need to know more about in order to improve your situation.

zodiac sign illustrationARIES

March 21–April 19

Mercury backtracks into your hopes-and-humanity sector this week, drawing you to look beyond yourself and contemplate being part of a greater whole. This house in your chart asks what and whom you identify with. Friends, professional organizations, clubs, mentors, philanthropic causes, social movements and new objectives connect you to the world. Reviewing the people, groups and goals you’re tied to is appropriate during Mercury’s retrograde phase here. But a misunderstanding and difficulty with closeness, trust and sharing in one particular relationship are possibilities. Don’t withdraw, when you’re getting so much of your energy from interactions. The full moon in your fulfillment zone highlights your need to express yourself and brings a creative climax or emotional crescendo. Since it’s Valentine’s Day—plus the moon is in the dramatic sign of Leo and syncing with bold Mars in your relationship angle—you’re apt to be in a romantic or passionate mood. There’s no use hiding it!

zodiac sign illustrationTAURUS

April 20–May 20

Restrictive Saturn in your others angle squares off with the sun in your ambition house this week, which might make it feel like someone’s obstructing your progress. And when the full moon in your domestic zone gets involved, the challenges of balancing relationships, home life and goals could become a problem. But action-oriented Mars in your competence sector reminds you that hard work will eventually pay off. Attending to details, taking on responsibility, plugging away at necessary tasks, polishing your skills—all of this will put you in a position to achieve. What do you want to achieve, though? With retrograde Mercury backing into this part of your chart, you’re called to rethink your current direction and perhaps revise some of your objectives. Communication with authority figures like a boss or parent will be difficult now, so turn your focus inward and formulate steps you can take to improve your standing.

zodiac sign illustrationGEMINI

May 21–June 20

The full moon in your verbal sector on Valentine’s Day suggests that you may want to push past this communication-challenged Mercury retrograde and express your feelings. It’s harder to make yourself understood now, but don’t bottle up your emotions if there’s something you need to talk about. Your job, health or daily duties are weighing on you, and you need to make the effort to include fun, creativity, romance and pure joy in your life. Give your playful side a release valve! Work and other responsibilities may be infringing on your freedom, and your day-to-day reality is not measuring up to your vision of how you want your life to be. With your ruler Mercury backing into your vision house, this is a good time to think about the lens through which you view the world and consider whether your outlook might be due for a change.

zodiac sign illustrationCANCER

June 21–July 22

Your ruling planet the moon becomes full in your worth zone this week, opposing the sun and retrograde Mercury. A power struggle or a disagreement over money is possible, or you’ll reach a turning point affecting your finances or your confidence. A lack of fun, love or joy play a role in your mood, as restrictive Saturn is in your pleasure house, forming a harsh angle to the moon. But Mars in your roots angle is cooperating with the moon, underscoring the need to ground yourself, work on maintaining a healthy home life and take charge of your own emotional wellbeing. The closeness you want might feel blocked, and with Mercury backpedaling into your sharing sector, it’s a good time to look at what you’re getting and giving in your closest relationships. Trust, jealousy, sex and the inner workings of your agreements with others may come under review in the next couple of weeks.

zodiac sign illustrationLEO

July 23–August 22

You’ll probably feel like letting loose in some way or another on Valentine’s Day, when the dramatic full moon lights up your sign. Your emotions, needs and relationships are emphasized, but with Mercury retrograde in your relationships angle, don’t be surprised if you find yourself rehashing old issues. The sun-moon opposition has to do with the balance between you and others. With the sun being your ruler and the moon visiting your sign, you should be able to find a happy medium. Despite the trickiness of communication during Merc retro, assertive Mars is in your talk sector, hinting that you should still have the courage to express yourself. Difficult emotions or problems in your home life or family are likely to impact one-on-one interactions now, as well as your mood. Reflecting on your relationships and reclaiming the qualities of your own that you project onto others will be worthwhile.

zodiac sign illustrationVIRGO

August 23–September 22

Although mental Mercury is retrograde, it’s backtracking into the house in your chart associated with Virgo this week—hopefully making life a tad less complicated. Saturn in your talk sector the last 16 months hasn’t exactly made communication a breeze. You’re thinking and speaking in a more serious, mature way than you used to—or a negative mindset may have crept in and lingered. Your work or health could be impacted by this gravity or pessimism now. But the full moon in your subliminal zone reminds you to let your intuition, spirituality, dreams and imagination help you transcend such challenges, bringing more balance into your life. It could be you need to release a particular emotion you’ve been holding onto so you’ll have the necessary energy to take care of business. It’s also time for rethinking how you structure your day, reassessing your health and reflecting on the nature of your work.

zodiac sign illustrationLIBRA

September 23–October 22

Mercury backtracks into your pleasure house this week, where the sun is already hanging. In the next couple of weeks, you may revise a creative project, revive a past source of happiness, reconnect with your passion and rediscover your uniqueness. You have energy for fun, hobbies, art, romance, affection and children, and you feel a pull to express and enjoy yourself. But when the full moon lands in your group sector on Valentine’s Day, you might need to balance your pleasure and the needs of others. Mars in Libra is harmonizing with the sun and moon, making this balancing act much easier. Pay attention to your friends’ feelings, and do what you can to smooth things over if necessary. Saturn in your worth zone is giving the sun a hard time, implying that low funds or confidence could be holding you back. Be proactive and creative to ensure you enjoy yourself anyway.

zodiac sign illustrationSCORPIO

October 23–November 21

Home life, family, memories, emotions and old patterns could sidetrack your commitment to yourself this week when the sun in your roots angle clashes with Saturn in Scorpio. As a result, you may feel tired or blocked. Work alone on your own projects. Confront your compulsive behavior that undermines you. Summon courage in the face of loss. Make peace with an ending. Retrograde Mercury’s visit to your past-and-comfort sector invites you to reflect on your resurfacing feelings and remembrances and to rethink your self-care. How do you soothe the pain that may be coming up for you now? Are you giving yourself a strong foundation by doing what you can to affirm and support the private you—the you who you are when you’re home alone with your thoughts? The full moon precipitates the denouement of a goal, drama with an authority figure or a shift in your ambitions and coaxes you to balance your inner and outer lives.

zodiac sign illustrationSAGITTARIUS

November 22–December 21

This week the full moon lands in the part of your chart that’s naturally associated with Sagittarius, awakening your need for freedom. The sun-moon opposition contrasts your immediate surroundings and everyday interactions with the lure of broader horizons, giving you an itch to get beyond your habitual routine. With both Mercury and Jupiter retrograde now, a trip might be problematic. (Merc rules domestic travel, and Jupiter rules long journeys.) But as Mercury backpedals into your cognition-and-community zone, try examining your default mode of thinking and looking at your environment with fresh eyes. If you can’t stretch your wings by getting out of town now, how might you look at the world differently from right where you are? Think about what kind of learning will enhance your growth. Uncharacteristic gloominess could cloud your head, but you’ll feel better when you reach out to friends and professional contacts and pursue new goals.

zodiac sign illustrationCAPRICORN

December 22–January 19

With this week’s full moon in your sharing sector, news related to outside financing could come to light. Or considering that it’s Valentine’s Day and this part of your chart concerns closeness, your feelings about someone in particular or about trust, intimacy and making a relationship work are apt to come out. The opposition highlights the tension between what you can get for yourself and what you need from someone else. It calls you to walk the tightrope between what’s yours and what you share with others. Possessiveness, power and jealousy may be part of this picture. And your values or self-sufficiency could conflict with friends or colleagues as Saturn in your group zone enters the fray. With Mercury backing into your worth house, review your finances, reexamine your priorities, reevaluate your possessions and reflect on everything you have going for you. Taking action on goals will have a positive effect on other areas of life now.
