One of the most memorable nights we had in Austin was on Friday. In the early evening hours — that magical part of the day when the sun begins to sink and everything is covered with a dusty glow — we gathered at a home away from the busy streets of SXSW. Vans rolled up and instruments piled out, old friends greeted each other with hugs and smiles. Among the crowd was Nicole Atkins, the talented singer songwriter with a raspy, soulful voice, and her band; and Ruby the Hatchet, our good friends who are fronted by one of our FP girls, Jillian. Alana Amram, singer and friend of Nicole’s, also stopped by to join us. The gracious homeowners (thank you Hannah, Bre, and James!) offered us red wine as we made ourselves comfortable for an acoustic performance of Nicole Atkins’s song “It’s Only Chemistry” off of her
new album Slow Phaser. It was an evening I’m sure none of us will forget anytime soon, and we stayed long
into the night, singing along with the wind chimes under twinkling lights.
On Jillian: Spin Me Right Round Sequin Dress, Metal Upper Armband, Embellished Band Brimmed Hat, Drazen Mid Boot.
On Alana: On The Open Road Lace Tunic.

I love this. I remember watching a backyard section of Miley Cyrus once and being amazing at how raw and authentic it was. I think this is a fabulous idea and every inclusive!
