A Day In Portland

Try asking any local of Portland, Oregon “what is your favorite thing about your city?” Seems it’s quite hard to get a simple response  – not because there aren’t things to love, but rather, their city is filled with too much greatness! I truly understand why now… one day there and your senses run wild.

To smell, aromas of fresh ground coffee in a city of the best baristas. From Stumptown Roasters to Albina Press and Coava Coffee the options are endless. Sip leisurely.

To see, Washington park when the roses are in full bloom. Or, take a trail through Forrest Park for a dose of nature. Let the sights inspire you.

To taste, the golden crispness of a whiffie pie. Food truck pods can be found in many corners throughout the city. Don’t forget to stop by the Waffle Window and Voodoo Doughnuts for some sugary sweets!

To hear, the best of indie rock. The hometown of some greats like The Shins, Decemberists, and Elliot Smith. Believe they’ve got some amazing acts brewing!

To feel, as your fingers brush through the pages of a new read when your wander through Powell’s Books. A place where you can unwind, sit back and escape into a story.

And oh, the vintage… lose yourself in labyrinth-like mazes filled with relics of the past in places like House of Vintage and Red Light Clothing Exchange in the Hawthorne district.

If the road ever takes you near or around Portland, be sure to make a stop. There’s so much this place has to offer!

I absolutely love this.

I’ve often dreamt about ditching LA and making my way up to Portland. It just seems so serene. Not to mention, I love their extreme appreciate for art and coffee…who doesn’t?
