Free People Presents: Sun Chaser

For our latest lookbook, Sun Chaser, we traveled to Kansas City to shoot a video to correspond with the lookbook. The result is a story I think we can all relate to in some way.

It’s the story of growing up in a place you long to escape. Taking that terrifying plunge, and chasing the sun, driving until you can’t drive any further, until you reach that point where the land meets the ocean, and then somewhere in the distance the ocean meets the sky. Why is it terrifying? Because you have to leave everything you’ve known, all that is familiar, behind, and sometimes, you can’t share your dreams with everyone…some things have to be sought after alone.

What dreams are you chasing?

Love this!! I live in a small town in Kansas and I wanna break free and live by the ocean. Currently in Florida, only for a week, but not wanting to leave ever.

I can totally relate to this.. I live on the west coast of Canada and it almost NEVER stops raining. It is so dark and depressing. The sky is so close that it feels like we live in a box. I need the ocean, and a cool breeze and a clear never ending sky. I need festivals and inspiring people; and one day I’m gonna take the leap and chase my dreams. Because I’m a sun chaser.

There is something truly amazing about living in a place where the sun almost always shines and the summer’s heat is dry and the winters are refreshingly cool. I love it when the wind blows in just the right direction and I can smell the salty sea air. I always try to remember to be grateful for the beautiful place where I live.

Oh, I’ve got some pretty big dreams. Including getting out of Utah and traveling more in general. I want to wander.
