On The Road To SXSW With Ruby The Hatchet

At this year’s SXSW we hit the road with local band Ruby The Hatchet to get a behind the scenes look at what the festival is like from a musician’s perspective. A few days before the festival began, the band loaded up their van and started the 35+ hour drive from Philadelphia to Austin. From van troubles to late night gas station stops, to showcases and tattoos, the end result is a very real glimpse into the life of a traveling band, where the journey is the destination.

“Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life.” – Jack Kerouac

there’s nothing more fun & free spirited than packing it up and heading out of town on a long road trip…it is all about journey, the adventure of it all, the people you meet, the places you see, the awesome retro roadside diners… you guys captured it perfectly in images, words and video!!!
