What is it about summer that brings out the child in us? We revert back to the days when we were outside from the moment we awoke until our parents called to us from the backdoor to come inside. Those sweet days spent exploring every creek, overturning every rock, baring our feet to the soft, cool dirt and grass. Discovering hidden worlds and calling them our own, dipping our toes in fresh stream water and watching the fish scurry by. I miss that wild feeling, when time didn’t exist… we looked only at the sun and the gradual darkening of the sky to tell us when it was time to go home.

Such a wonderful post! It reminds me of my childhood summers. One of the things that I loved to do was to lay on the lawn in the bottom of our yard and simply gaze at the sky watching the clouds float by. It always filled me with such serenity and peace. I’ll have to do that more often as an adult! Thank you for sharing your beautiful words and images!
