Whenever I make a smoothie, there’s always that extra little bit at the bottom of the blender that I end up tossing away. It’s sad to let a good drink go to waste, which is why smoothie cubes are one of the best little inventions I’ve stumbled across this season. Not only will these cubes save your left over smoothie, it will also save you time. You can whip up a large batch, pour the leftovers into an ice cube tray, and stick them in the freezer. Next time you want a smoothie all you have to do is set the cubes out on the counter for a minute to defrost, pop them in the blender, and you’re set! If you’re busy in the morning, this will save you a lot of prep time. Below you can see how to make the cubes using two delicious smoothie recipes that I’ve been loving in the warmer temperatures!
Banana, Pineapple + Mint Green Smoothie
Banana
Pineapple
Mint
Kale
Spinach
Almond Milk
Ice
Depending on how big your blender is, you can alter the amounts in the recipe to whatever is fitting. I had a relatively small blender, so I used 1 banana, a few chunks of pineapple, a few sprigs of mints, and then a handful of kale, spinach, and ice. I topped it off with a 1/2 cup of almond milk and blended until smooth.
Strawberry, Banana, Peach + Honey Smoothie
Banana
Peach
Strawberry
Honey
Almond Milk
Ice
For this one, I used 1 banana, 5 strawberries, 1 peach, a spoonful of honey, and 1/2 cup almond milk. Blend it up until smooth.
Take any left over smoothie you may have and fill up an ice cube tray.
Store the tray in the freezer until the cubes are frozen.
Now, whenever you want to make a smoothie, all you have to do is let the cubes thaw a bit then pop them in the blender! You can also add in other ingredients and use these cubes in lieu of ice. So easy and so fast!
Enjoy!

I always do this with baby spinach leaves. I get a batch, have some in a salad and some in a warm dish the next day and then blend all the leftovers with some water and voila, instant green for your smoothie!
I was thinking today about what a waste the leftover bits of smoothie were! This is such a great idea that I’ll try tomorrow :D
Hi, can you tell me how long these cubes will keep? Thanks!
