Backyard Dinner Party With Ruthie Lindsey & Local Milk

It was around 4pm last Wednesday when we pulled up to Ruthie Lindsey’s home in East Nashville. Everyone was in the backyard, so we let ourselves in the mint green door and made our way through Ruthie’s picture-perfect home. Walking into the backyard felt like walking into a dream. In one corner, Beth Kirby was photographing a table of fresh, juicy peaches that she was using for one of the night’s dishes. Their sweet smell mixed with the scent of basil and flowers to create the sweetest aroma wafting through the air. In another corner, a friend of theirs was weaving flowers into a crown, while Ruthie floated about, arranging floral displays for the table and smiling from ear to ear, radiating with a peaceful

The sun began to lower in the sky as our FP Me girls from the day’s shoot began to arrive, donning beautiful dresses, and one even coming equipped with her own guitar, which was quickly taken out and played by a few of the talented ladies. We sat down to eat during the final hours of daylight, and the twinkling fairy lights and lightning bugs began to twinkle around us in the lush green of the backyard. We gathered around a handmade wooden table, sitting upon beautiful oriental rugs, at place settings with little bags of tea and crystals placed upon linen napkins. We dined on squash, zucchini, and feta salad, potatoes, lamb, and peach galette courtesy of Beth. Before we knew it darkness had set in and more guests were filtering in to enjoy the live music from Sugar and the Hi Lows. The crowd gathered on blankets in the yard, gently swaying to and fro to the sweet sounds of Amy and Trent.

It was one of those evenings when everyone just feels drunk on happiness – mouths fixed in permanent smiles, eyes sparkling as they take it all in. It was a special night indeed, one we will never forget.

Thank you to everyone who was a part of this day and evening – and stay tuned for video features on our amazing hostess Ruthie and cook/photographer extraodinaire Beth Kirby!

I would like every dress here. I’m generally obsessed with your gorgeous henleys with embroidery and other shorts, and dresses and…well everything. So, which dresses are in the above pics? Campaign is as ethereal as are all FP campaigns. Literally my favorite in terms of beauty, fashion, art, and branding. I do think that that you should consider (please!) branching out to small event planning…..just stunning.
