Let’s Be Adventurers

This post comes from our AVM and Social Media Specialist at Free People Aspen, April!

Oh darling, let’s be adventurers.

There is always a hint of mystery behind a set of mountains. A symbol of never ending adventures, a place one can escape to and feel completely engulfed by its surroundings.  Ask yourself, when was the last time you stepped into the wilderness and thought about nothing but the current moment? Can you recall the last time you breathed in deep, pure air?

I recently escaped to a place where even if you tried, your mind could only focus on the beauty at hand – and that beauty was deep in the mountains of Alaska.

Adventure is all around us, and at times even in our own back yard. This week I challenge you to put down your phone, shut off your computer and go outside. Escape from your daily life and set your mind free, even if it is only for a few hours. Go explore. I promise you won’t regret it. What will your next adventure be?

Growing up in the English countryside, my childhood has been full to the brim with adventures. I’m only 18, and I can see so clearly how important it is for people to step away from technology and go adventuring. Exploring is what life is for. Loved this post, thanks Free People :)

Challenge accepted :)! I love going to the nearby nature, breathing the fresh air and getting lost in the woods. Nothing beats that.

I would love to go to Alaska someday! I spent four months last year in Wyoming and Montana and it was amazing. The Rockies are just so beautiful. I spent a lot of time hiking in the Yellowstone and Grand Teton back country and I don’t regret it. I also love the Appalachian Trail here in the Blue Ridge. It’s a lot of fun to section hike and just be out in nature. :)

Alaska has a very soothing quality being so far away from it all, these photos truly capture the solitude.

I’ve always wanted to go to Alaska. I’ve had the travel bug since I came back from Australia last winter. I miss traveling and seeing new places every day. There is something so inspiring to be in a new place every day. You’re photos are beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Hello fp Julie and aspen! I’ve been on a two month adventure through the long beaches of the Oregon coast (you can see a picture if you visit my profile WindGoddess) to the lush forests and hike trails of Washington state. One of my most memorable adventures was through a forest to an amazing 100ft waterfall, surrounded by mossy cliffs. Naturally I swam in the water hole & found it quite calm to feel my body numbing in the water! Anyways, just wanted to share my thoughts! Love Free People ♥

It is absolutely imperative that I figure out where the ‘I Heart Mtns’ shirt came from because I desperately need it in my possession. Please please send a link or a store name or something. Okay thanks
