This post comes from our blog intern, Aubrie!
This weekend I’m packing up my wide brimmed hats and turquoise jewels and heading out west to Durango, Colorado. I’m so excited to revisit the old mining town tucked away in the southwest corner of the state. Picture a real coal-fired train rolling along the brick streets of a city set against a stunning mountain ridge backdrop. I’ve never been there in the fall, but it’s already taking my breath away imagining autumn aspen trees against jagged red rock formations. I simply cannot wait to take in all of that fresh mountain air.
It’s not only the beautiful scenery that mesmerizes me about this place, but also the distinct style it embraces. Being out there always opens my eyes to a completely different lifestyle and greatly inspires me. The shops lining the streets are filled with authentic Native American treasures and shelves of distressed cowboy boots. Think suede fringe, warm earth tones, and worn leather in true western fashion. It’s truly a gorgeous place with amazing people in it. I’m promising myself that I’m not coming back without a weekend full of wild western adventure!
Where are you adventuring this weekend?
