Blogger Picks: 2014 Holiday Gift Guide

Oh yes, it’s that time of year again. As we are greeted by the season of giving, the lists begin to form as we think about those special people in our life that deserve a little something back from us. Whether it be large or small scale, picking out the right gift for someone can sometimes be scary. With hundreds of options, narrowing it down to the items that fit accordingly and within a budget is the game we all have to play. As the holiday’s come a knockin’, we’re here to help you along the way. Here’s a look at some of our favorite items — to give, and to keep!

The holidays, to me, are a time of comfort, and I’m counting down the days until I can hit the road, bound for those Northern woods to be surrounded by the love of family and friends. For the day itself, I always plan a super comfortable – yet still dressy – outfit; the First Kiss Dress has been on my wishlist for months now, and I’m head-over-heels for the new deep-red color variation. I’ll pair this with the Joe Lace Up Boot —which I’ve also had my eye on — they’re a sensible, yet still striking choice, as I’ll most likely be trudging through some snow this holiday season!

Naturally, my wishlist is just as cozy: a sweet set of sleepwear, shearling slippers, the softest snow-white sweater, and loose-leaf tea to sit in front of the fire with. I plan to bestow this same level of comfort upon those I love, and the Mason Jar Baking Mix is the perfect portable gift to give to each house I visit.

I’m not a fan of cold weather, so staying warm has always been my main priority this season. Number one on my wishlist has got to be the Victory Velvet Maxi Duster The long silhouette is sleek, and the soft & warm velvet is great for fall and then on into the winter. This is the perfect city coat, and one of those timeless pieces that I’ll have forever.

Some may like the sparkle and shine for the holidays, but my cup of tea is rather laid back and comfy. I love wearing outfits that can transition from day to night with an easy swap of accessories. I love anything plaid, and I’ve had my eye on the Oversized and Plaid Boyfriend Shirt since the drop of our November Catalog. Pairing that with some boyfriend jeans and flats is my go-to day look, then when evening rolls around, I’ll throw on a statement necklace and trade the flats in for some heeled boots.

I am in love with the sparkly sweatshirt-duster shown at left in the last pic but I can’t for the life of me find it anywhere on the site. It doesn’t look like it’s any of the items listed here. Please help a girl out, FP!
