Love is Letting Go of Fear

This post comes to us from FPCarrie, one of the original bloggers behind BLDG 25. What’s the best gift you’ve ever received? A few years ago, I may have said it’s the jean jacket on which my mom hand-embroidered a cobra on wheels (she sure did), or one of the ba-jillion unicorn and pegasus anything’s that lived in my room as a kid… it would definitely have been something tactile, something I could wrap my arms inside of — or around — and love the heck out of. Today, my answer is a little bit different. I can still wrap my arms inside and around it, but also above, below and through it… it’s a piece of advice imparted by my amazing mom. And it’s the best kind of gift there is – a reminder to choose love. love4 In a quest to find harmony with herself and her surroundings, my mom stumbled upon a book, titled Love is Letting Go of Fear by Gerald Jampolsky, M.D., while reading it, she quickly deduced that every single one of her actions and reactions were based on either love or fear, and that she held every opportunity to choose love, every time. The concept is almost too simple to comprehend, but undeniably true. Jampolsky’s book is a quick and easy read. However, to get the most out of its message, he suggests reading one chapter a day, or week… so that your mind and body can imbibe the lesson from each before moving on to the next idea… until! You are practicing these techniques without conscious thought. Living in the moment – which is easier said than done – nearly ensures that you will rid yourself of fear-based decisions. Because you are no longer comparing yourself to what you can’t change (the past) or what you have limited or no control of (the future)… the ‘now’ is here and knows only love. love3Pretty amazing stuff. And a great way to gear up a happier you, for yourself and those around you.

Awesome post. Pretty much any defect of my character is directly attach to a fear I have. & in so many instances in romantic, family, or friend relationships I am capable of reacting out of fear – and allowing my mind to project negatively and create anxiety. It is so freeing to move out of that. Thank you for the reminder!

Warm Regards,
Alexandra
