I was a little disappointed I didn’t get the chance to meet Brittaney in person when I was passing through Boulder on my road trip.
Her pics on FP Me have been some of my favorites recently, and I didn’t realize she worked at FP Boulder until a few days ago. I should have figured based on her epic locations; huge mountains, pretty snow, rocky canyons… basically Colorado in a nutshell.
I love finding out more about the people who live in places that I love, I feel like I have an instant connection with them just because of where they call home. Brittaney seems like the kind of girl who would be your best friend, ready to adventure and explore at any given moment. Find out more about her below!

Where are you from? How has this shaped the person that you are today?
I don’t really think I could say I’m from one place because I moved around a pretty decent amount growing up, but if I had to choose a place that’s impacted me the most I would definitely have to say Colorado. This state has done so much for me, from sparking my desire to explore to teaching me what it means to be humble. I have never met friendlier and more down-to-earth people than your typical Coloradan.

Where do you currently live? Any secret gems in your town that you’re willing to share with us?
I currently live in Boulder, Colorado, and boy does this town have some secret gems! From endless, beautiful hikes to the cutest locally owned restaurants, there are secret gems around every corner. My all time favorite has to be the Dushanbe Tea house; it’s an exquisite building that was imported all the way from our sister city Dushanbe, Tajikistan! I even went to high school with the family that owns it.

How did you find your way to Free People?
I have always been obsessed with the brand, I mean who isn’t? So when I heard the Free People Boulder store was hiring last summer I did everything I could to try and land the job!
Get the look: Poppy Denim Jumpsuit, Surfside Sunglass
Can you give us a day in the life of what it’s like to work at Free People Boulder?
Let’s see… I’m a morning person and I think my managers caught onto that so you’ll usually find me opening, then helping our fabulous customers choose the best pieces to add to their wardrobe! If we get the chance, we’ll go out on Pearl Street and try to capture some FP Me pictures, although most of mine are captured when I’m off work and exploring!
Get the look: Summer Blanket Tunic
It seems like Boulder has an endless amount of amazing locations when it comes to taking FP Me pics. Where is your favorite place to shoot?
Tell me about it, I’m constantly finding new amazing places here! My absolute favorite place to shoot is probably up in Sunshine Canyon, this windy little canyon that not a lot of people know about. I love how it feels so isolated, yet it’s literally in our backyard.
Get the look: Beatnik Tunic, Charlie Cuff Beanie, Strappy Back Bra
Do you have any tips or tricks for setting up a great shot?
I think the best thing to keep in mind while setting up a shot is to have fun with it! The best photos I’ve ever taken or had taken were with my friends, adventuring and taking in the beautiful mountains we get to call home!
Get the look: Reign Over Me Lace Dress, Tattered Up Shred Slip, Extended Brim Clipperton
Where’s your favorite place to escape to that’s not too far from Boulder?
Probably Rocky Mountain National Park, it’s only a 45-minute drive and the views are breathtaking. Whether you’re just driving through the park or going on a hike, you’re bound to run into something exciting!

Do you have any hidden talents you can share with us?
Hmm, I’d say I have a knack for finding anything and everything at flea markets and thrift stores! That might not be your traditional talent, but I grew up thrift store shopping on the reg, so it has forever held a special place in my heart. Something about going into a store and never knowing what you’ll find or where it came from intrigues me way too much.

What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?
Haha going along with that knack for finding things, probably the Lafayette Flea Market. It’s this funky little hole-in the-wall warehouse that’s filled with everything from records to 1950’s TVs and even ninja swords (lol)! It’s right by my parent’s house so you can find me there at least twice a week when I’m home during the summer.
Get the look: Eclipse Brami, Etched Geo Barette
What does being “free” mean to you??
Being “free” means embracing what makes you happy and not letting anyone get in the way of it. For me, that means living a passionate, creative, and adventurous life filled with nothing but good vibes and the loveliest people.

I don’t see any models of color in the catalog. Why? Jolene Nicol from Boston and NYC would be breathtaking in FP designs. I absolutely love FP. I have Stage IV cancer and FP makes me feel alive. I have to stay alive to enjoy this life affirming clothing. With much Free Love,

It was fun seeing FP clothes through different seasons here! Does the Marshmallow Cardigan shed? I’ve been looking for a fluffy piece like that but have read that some of them shed or are linty…
