A little rain in the forecast isn’t enough to slow down the SXSW crowds… even if there’s a 100% chance of downpours.
All fingers were crossed last Friday down in Austin as we thought positive thoughts and hoped and prayed for good weather. We rose early that morning and headed over to Friends & Neighbors to complete the final preparations before kicking off our first ever unofficial SXSW showcase. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue; the setting that Friends & Neighbors provides transformed into the perfect backdrop for a fun day of music and good times. Festival product from our latest collection was scattered about, tucked between tables that had been sprinkled with freshly cut flowers, the warm ambiance of twinkle lights illuminating the gorgeous outdoor space. Everything was perfect except for that one little obstacle: The rain. It had arrived. Sometimes you just can’t compete with the weather. But a little H2O from the earth is manageable if you know how to get around it. The pretty white shed out back of Friends & Neighbors quickly became a blessing in disguise. Shed? Stage? Same thing.
With a little help from one of our amazing display gals, we transformed what was once a square of storage space into the dreamiest stage one could imagine. We’ll let the pictures speak for themselves below, but not before saying that the rain pattering on the roof, and everyone cozied together dancing to the sounds of Taylor & The Wild Now, Family & Friends, Nikki Lane and Jamestown Revival was such a magical experience to be a part of, we wouldn’t have had it any other way.
A VERY special thanks to everyone who helped make this happen! We couldn’t have done it without you!:

I was at Friends & Neighbors getting coffee while y’all were setting up. The vibes were awesome, and everyone was so nice. I met those adorable dogs and they were the sweetest/calmest.
If it wasn’t for the rain I probably would have come back for the music
I love these types of events! Such beautiful photography as well :)
Are you all doing this in 2017? Looking to book a artist to play it.
