Festival season is officially underway! I’m always a little sad when SXSW ends, because it’s my personal favorite, but it helps that there are so many amazing festivals to look forward to. While the next big one (Coachella) is only a couple of weeks away, I’ve got my sights set on Austin’s next festival: Levitation. Formerly known as Austin Psych Fest, this is a festival I have never attended and can’t wait to finally experience. The festival is put on annually by The Reverberation Appreciation Society, the same people behind the record label of the same name and RVRB Records. Every year they put together an incredible roster of the music industry’s best psych rock, and this year’s lineup is pretty unreal. The headliners are Texas psych rock pioneers the 13th Floor Elevators, who are reuniting for the first time in 45 years, 50 years after they first formed in 1965. The festival takes place May 8-10th at Carson Creek Ranch just outside Austin, and also welcomes some amazing local vendors and vintage retailers. Austin psych fest is going to be radical! My boyfriend and I are taking a road trip all the way from Michigan for the show. I have neven been either, but i’m greatly looking forward to it! Thanks for all your tips and tricks about Austin, we plan to stay a few extra days to check out the vintage shops and beautiful scenery that you guys have posted :D

Psych Fest is amazing. We camped out last year and it was a great experience. Saving money so decided to just go on Sunday this year. Super excited. I guarantee it’ll be nothing like any other festival you’ve been to. It’s very unique. You’ll love it.
