That moment, when the warmth and comfort of the realization that you’ve just woken up to the weekend envelopes your heart.
No rush to get up, no anticipation of a hectic office. Just you, your soft bedsheets, the sun peeking through half-closed blinds and the endless possibilities that lay ahead.
We spent the weekend in true Byron Bay style. The sun was out, the surf was pumping, and the cool autumn air refreshingly bit at our toes.
But first, coffee!
We all met up at local hangout The Top Shop to sip on dirty chais (that’s a chai latte with a shot of coffee), feast on acai bowls and pick up conversations where we last left things off. As we sat and waited for the sun to make her way higher in the sky, friends and familiar faces about town would come and go, kids and dogs ran free on the sun-soaked grass out front and the beautiful bohemians of Byron arrived barefoot in droves, with long flowing salty hair of course.
Whispers that the surf was pumping at Tallows stirred up energizing excitement in the air, and soon enough the boards were in the car and we headed off to search for waves.
The beauty about this little corner of the earth is you don’t need much more than some sunshine, a beach blanket, a surfboard or two, and your good friends for the perfect blissful weekend.
