Blogger Diary: A Final Farewell

While reflecting on four fleeting months in Philadelphia, I am so appreciative of the past and can’t wait for the future.

This post comes from our blog intern, Monica!

When I first moved to Philadelphia, I had no idea what to expect…but I had one goal in mind: to continually step outside of my comfort zone. Although I was initially concerned with what that might entail, I was ready for whatever was to come my way. Or so I thought. I never foresaw that the experiences and people waiting for me here would impact my life in in such a positive way. There were new surprises around every corner, each one happy. I wouldn’t trade these past four months for anything. Whether I was attending FP Events, bakingcrafting, cooking, road tripping to Upstate New York, taking weekend trips to New York City with new and old friends, exploring Washington DC, shooting for FP Loves, styling outfits, falling in love with Philly, or spending my days at the Home Office, I was stepping outside of my comfort zone and finding myself, learning, living, smiling, soaking it all in.

I am so grateful for the experiences I’ve had on the East Coast, especially here at Home Office. I’ve sincerely enjoyed every minute of it. Each moment was an experience that photos or words cannot express and, as wistful as I am that my internship is over, each dream has to come to an end once it’s time to dream a different dream. As bittersweet as it is to be heading back to school, I am thrilled for what the future has in store. I know there are plenty of other magical experiences for all of us, happiness that we can’t even imagine. I am looking ahead while appreciating what has passed. I have collected memories that will last forever, moments I will still smile about fifty years from now, friendships that will endure thousands of miles, and knowledge that will guide me through this crazy little thing called life.

So infinite thank you’s to everyone here at FP, thank you to the readers of the blog, thank you to Philadelphia for converting me to an East Coast girl, thank you to each person I’ve met for I have learned something of value from each of you. I never expected that stepping outside of my comfort zone would bring me more joy than I ever thought possible.

Until we meet again, I wish you all the best. <3

Sincerely,
Monica
