The Sweet Life, Part Four: Shades of Yellow to Lift Your Mood

Sunny, happy, bright, cheerful.

This post is number four in a 5-part series focusing on The Sweet Life.

Yellow is the color of freshness and joy. In the dark, cold days of winter, surrounding ourselves with yellow can help to lift us up to a more positive, energetic state of being.

Yellow is associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra — the core self. When this chakra is in balance, we feel an inner sense of peace and harmony. We are self-accepting and able to stand in our power. The solar plexus soaks in life energy from the sun, and allows us to be fully at peace with who we are.

If ever you find yourself feeling sad…dull…sluggish…uneasy…bring some yellow into your life. Dive into this beautiful color with every ounce of your being. Slip into a light yellow dress, twist a lemon into your water, buy a bunch of sunflowers and place them throughout your home. Cover a canvas with painted yellow designs. Literally view your world through sunshine-tinted lenses like these chakra glasses.

You can even feel the power of yellow without any physical resource. Close your eyes and imagine a beautiful ball of glowing yellow energy at your core. Allow this ball to fill your body with warmth and happiness. Then imagine this glowing energy to shoot out through the soles of your feet and the top of your head, bursting into the world around you. Open your eyes and smile. You’re radiating happiness.

I love yellow :-) I really like sunny, orangey yellow.

Yellow is such a cheerful color because it reminds us of sunlight! Wearing it, eating it, and even decorating with it are all mood boosters. Even something simple such as putting yellow flowers in a vase can do wonders for your mindset.
