After joining the crew in Puerto Rico for our #FPLETSMOVE event, I’ll be exploring…and I need your travel advice!
On Saturday, January 30th, #FPLETSMOVE will be taking over the Condado Lagoon in San Juan, Puerto Rico for a day of SUP paddle boarding and on-land yoga! Samatahiti Yoga and San Juan Paddle Boarding will be leading the way, fueled by healthy bites and juices from Acai Express and Puro Jugo and a special performance by singer-songwriter, Calma Carmona! Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, so make sure to RSVP. BYOM (bring your own mat!) and arrive early to save your spot!
I’m so excited to head to San Juan to cover the event! Two years ago, I visited Puerto Rico and fell in love with just about everything — the beaches, the architecture, the food…if you haven’t been, you should add it to your “places to go” list. I’m planning on a few extra days to do some more digging, making the trip over to Vieques, then driving along the southern coast and up towards Rincon. *If any of you have suggestions on the places I must go, or things I have to experience, or the people I have to meet, please leave a comment below!* I’d love to learn about the hidden gems, the secrets that lie off the beaten path, the picturesque locations that are totally worth experiencing and the magical people of Puerto Rico in need of a profile. Culebra island is beautiful! You take a ferry from the main island, and it’s around a two hour ride but absolutely worth it. I also recommend hiking, scuba diving, and snorkeling. I didn’t spend a lot of time in San Juan but the city was really cool to walk around. We also went zip lining at this place called Toro Verde and it was amazing, I think they have one of the highest zip lines in South America. I was only in Puerto Rico for a week but you can do a lot there in such a short time. Have fun!!
If you are going to Rincón you should go to the Cabo Rojo Lighthouse it has a breathtaking view (its on the southwest part of the Island).
If you are still in the Island, you must go to Playa Sucia in Guanica!!!! It’s the most beautiful place in the island. Take some water with you, you have to walk quite sometime to get to the beach. Here is a link to a blog post of my last visit to Playa Sucia in 2014.

i recently got back from a two week stay in puerto rico. we stayed in the south end of the island, near ponce. so many beautiful places to find. i’m not finished with all my puerto rico posts on my blog, but i have written about going to the lighthouse in cabo rojo (on the way, stop to see the pink water!!), salto de collores in juana diaz (beautiful waterfall in an old man’s backyard), going to la guancha beach in ponce (eat mofongo relleno con camarones at kiosko 15), and going to the boqueron beach in cabo rojo. i have more posts coming (we went to el yunque rain forest, palomino island, sunflower farm called finca girasol in guanica, manantial de palmira in Vega baja (hard to explain but it’s pretty much an area of clear spring water in the middle of a forest, BEAUTIFUL!!), and a visit to castillo serralles (where i got married!). check out my blog posts here: http://ohsheslovely.blogspot.com/search/label/puerto%20rico and my instagram here: instagram.com/ralizabeth

I’d recommend you come to vieques! If freepeople like it off the beaten path — then aim for la Finca vieques! I’m biased of course…but having hosted free thinkers and fun people for 20 years now!, feel pretty sure you all would love it. #lafincavieques. Xoxox
