April 20–May 20

With Mercury turning retrograde in your sign this week, you may start to feel a bit tongue-tied and misunderstood. You could change your mind, and this is an appropriate time for reviewing personal matters. Think about the way you’re perceived and whether or not it reflects the real you. Venus is moving into Taurus, boosting your sociability and charm. You’ll feel more agreeable and attractive, and your ruling planet will help you to exude warmth. It’s easier for you to draw in what you want in the coming month, so put yourself in situations where you can do so. A sun-Neptune connection also enables you to be yourself while still fitting in with people.

May 21–June 20

Your ruler, Mercury, goes retrograde in the last house of your chart this week, making you even more circumspect and putting you in closer touch with your subconscious. Pay attention to your dreams, as they can convey valuable messages. Meditation, journaling and reflecting on the past may be extra useful now. Venus is also slipping into that house, causing you to feel less social and more inclined to take care of others. You might choose to make a sacrifice for someone you love or finally let go of a relationship. This is a time for retreating from the world, seeking peace and quiet, keeping your own counsel and listening to your intuition.

June 21–July 22

As Mercury begins to backtrack in your network zone this week, the chances of misunderstandings with friends go up, but so do the chances of reconnecting with people you’ve lost touch with. Group gossip can be destructive, so try to ignore it. Give some thought to your friendships, your ties to various organizations and the team of support that you have around you. You might end up reconsidering a particular affiliation in the next few weeks. As Venus enters that house for a nearly month-long stay, socializing, professional networking and other group activities take on added appeal. Being around other people can inspire you and make you feel connected to something beyond yourself now.

July 23–August 22

Partnership and psychological insight can help you to shine this week, thanks to a sun-Neptune collaboration. But with Mercury going retrograde at the top of your chart, you may start to experience crossed wires with authority figures and difficulty planning your next move. This is a good time for rethinking a goal, considering your public image or professional status, reviewing your career path and researching your industry of choice. Exercise caution when speaking with your boss, though. Thankfully, Venus is crossing your ambition angle, enabling you to charm people who have power over you. You can exude friendliness and demonstrate a willingness to compromise while choosing your words carefully.

August 23–September 22

Mercury—your ruling planet—begins backpedaling in your expansion sector this week, complicating travel and education. If you have a trip scheduled, try to be patient with delays and detours. In the next few weeks, you might want to examine your beliefs, reread a book, review something you’ve studied previously, revisit a place you’ve been and revise your vision of the future. As Venus moves into the same house, the appeal of difference increases. Fresh, stimulating experiences and exposure to a variety of people, arts and cultures are apt to please you. Others can broaden your views now, and you might become attracted to someone who’s unfamiliar to you.

September 23–October 22

With Venus arriving in your sharing sector this week, your desire for a deep connection grows. An existing relationship may intensify, or you could experience a strong sexual attraction. Closeness can have a healing effect, luring you to transmute something in your psyche. Mercury is going retrograde in that part of your chart, so the next few weeks are a good time to ponder issues concerning trust, intimacy, jealousy, loss, give-and-take, death, sexuality, insurance, taxes, loans and debts. You might figure out a secret, and researching something you’d looked into previously could produce a new finding. And a sun-Neptune collaboration encourages you to make the connection between psychological wellbeing and physical health.

October 23–November 21

Mercury turns retrograde in your one-on-one angle this week, calling for you to review your unspoken agreements with others; renegotiate the terms of a relationship (informally—don’t sign any contracts!); contemplate your close connections and get back in touch with someone you care about. You’re likelier than usual to misunderstand someone, so don’t jump to conclusions. An interpersonal issue may resurface, tempting you to rehash an old argument. With Venus entering the same part of your chart, compromise becomes the key to pleasant relations. Despite the miscommunication associated with Mercury retrograde, this can be a good time for making peace, as you’re able to set your ego aside and put the relationship first.

November 22–December 21

This week, Mercury goes retrograde in your efficiency corner, encouraging you to revise your schedule; reorganize your workspace; doublecheck details; review your diet, fitness regimen and health; revisit an old problem in search of a better solution; relearn a skill; research jobs; and put your daily habits under the microscope. Watch what you say to colleagues, as misunderstandings with them are a distinct possibility. With Venus entering the same house, you can get along with the people you work with by showing that you’re a team player. A sun-Mars disagreement suggests you may need to tweak your approach in order to get something done, though, so be as flexible as you can.

December 22–January 19

With Mercury turning retrograde in your fulfillment zone this week, you may feel less able to say what’s in your heart and express yourself artistically. Try revising a creative project or rediscovering an old source of pleasure such as a neglected hobby. You might find yourself reminiscing about lost love, but reconnecting with an ex is apt to be problematic, as miscommunication and iffy judgment are trademarks of Mercury retrograde. Venus’s segue into that house will put you in a romantic mood, and it’s perfectly fine to show affection now; just know that if you start a relationship or declare your feelings, you might change your mind in a few weeks.

January 20–February 18

After Mercury goes retrograde at the bottom of your chart this week, you may have misunderstandings with family members or people you live with and find yourself thinking about the past more than usual. Although it’s a good time to rethink your living situation and your décor, you should avoid making any major decisions about them. Decluttering and rearranging furniture are safe bets for now. Quiet reflection can help you gain insight into your emotional state or patterns that you’ve carried over from childhood. And with Venus also descending to your foundation angle, reconnecting with relatives and entertaining at home will make you feel good in the weeks to come.

February 19–March 20

Mercury begins to backtrack this week, inviting you to contemplate your habitual ways of thinking and communicating and to reexamine your assumptions. It could feel like your mind is racing and you can’t put your thoughts into words. Take a breath and write down what’s in your head rather than trying to convey it to others. Expect some glitches in your daily interactions and commute, and be patient. With Venus showing up in that house, noticing the warmth in your personal exchanges and the beauty in your environment will boost your spirits. A sun-Neptune connection inspires you to let your personality and compassion shine through even if you don’t feel especially eloquent.

March 21–April 19

Your financial judgment may be off after Mercury goes retrograde in your worth sector this week, so avoid big splurges. This would be a good time to take a hard look at your budget, assets, possessions, material needs, natural talents, earning potential, personal values and how much money you have coming in. You might consider reallocating your resources or streamlining your finances in some way. Try to prepare for a shortfall in case a paycheck is delayed. Venus’s arrival in that house also encourages you to ponder what is most important to you, to distinguish between need and want and to get your priorities in order so you’ll feel more secure and self-sufficient.
