The LA celebrity yoga instructor + health blogger shares her secret to keeping calm in a busy city.
As a Private Yoga Instructor in Los Angeles, CA, I find it my duty to bring calm and clarity to my clients and students who may find it hard to do so when living in such a busy and driven city. In today’s society we’re all so driven and it can feel strange when we’re not working, on Instagram or doing something “productive.” We are taught to fill every single waking minute with something. However, one of the most productive and beneficial things we could be doing for ourselves is instilling a practice such as yoga or finding more stillness in our everyday lives. It makes our days so much smoother, our minds so much more clear and our overall perspective much happier.
I love traveling all over LA to meet those clients who are stressed with work and well, LIFE. Life can be stressful! I am not to be excluded from living a somewhat stressful life. Sorry, it’s a part of being human! BUT I do my best, and yoga helps a lot. I breathe, I quiet my mind and move my body, and suddenly things feel a lot better. I’m not going to lie, it’s hard to manage my schedule at times while still finding those hours to let the dogs out, eat healthy and energizing foods (I’m moving all day long with my clients), write 3-4 times a week for my blog and magazines, spend time with my fiancé, plan our upcoming wedding, make playlists, market my brand, and then make sure on the weekends to get in “me time” to keep my sanity and balance it out from a busy week.
YOGA or some kind of practice that let’s you disconnect from the things holding you down to connect to the things that make you happy.
Happiness, love, calm, peace, positivity… That all lives somewhere inside of you.
It’s there, it just takes a minute (a whole hour, even better) to find. With yoga, I find it.
How do you find it?
It can be dance, it can be going to your favorite place, it can be lunch with a good friend… Finding the time that lets you relax and reset is key.
Doing it while in my Free People Movement wear helps me feel good and comfortable throughout my practice and keeps me feeling good all day long while I travel from point to point in L.A.
