Food for Your: Glowing Complexion

This time, Jolene shares her knowledge of food as a means of healing from the inside out. This is Food for Your _____; this time, for your Glowing Complexion, and starring:

Yep, lemons, sweet potatoes and beets.

1. Lemons.

Essential to many healing formulas, lemons can’t be beat for giving you glow. They provide a potent  — and alkaline — vitamin C BURST that aids in collagen formation, as well as detox.

2. Sweet potatoes.

Rich in beta-carotene (a naturally-occurring pigment that, when digested, is converted into vitamin A), sweet potato can help to smooth the texture of your skin, as well as balance oil production.

3. Beets.

Beets are one of your liver’s best friends — high in antioxidants, they are key in aiding waste filtration. They help stimulate the flow of lymph (a fluid containing infection-fighting white blood cells) throughout your body, making both the inner and outer you a healthier you.

I definitely need to eat more sweet potatoes and beets! Thanks for the inspiration. Who doesn’t want glowing skin?
