DAY 2: NOURISH YOUR MIND-BODY-SPIRIT

MIND

We have all experienced the ability of our mind to drop us into negativity or draw us toward inspiration. The trick is to develop a relationship with your mind, so that you work with it to achieve all that you want. Shift your internal dialogue to support personal growth and expansion.

Today, take time for journal writing, intention setting, and self care rituals. This will help you detach from unhealthy habits and self-limiting beliefs to make way for new energy to flow in.

BODY

With all of the toxicity in the environment, it’s imperative that we nourish ourselves with the highest quality foods possible. Every time you make a healthy choice, your body begins to reset itself. Mindfulness helps shift cravings and allows you to connect to clear signals from your body about what’s needed for energy and nourishment.

During the 5 days, it’s important to engage in physical activity that revitalizes the spirit: hiking, restorative yoga, and walking in nature. It’s just as important to engage in invigorating movement to flush the lymph system such as dancing, hot yoga, or running. Do not push yourself too hard, but do move the body daily. Find a balance of what works best for you. The variety will help to balance stress hormones, which can trigger weight gain no matter how much you’re working out. This “mash-up” exercise approach also works similarly to interval training, which keeps the body guessing and regulates metabolism.

SPIRIT

The spirit, or essence, is the final key to holistic nourishment.
A healthy and vibrant spirit is essential to truly feeling and looking your best. Partake in activities that uplift you and engage your soul. Maybe it’s cooking, dancing, practicing yoga/meditation, writing or making art; whatever activity it is that lifts your spirit, invite more of that into your life.
