A special sneak peek at our newest video short, coming next week…

This Monday, February 13, we are excited to announce that we will be premiering “Freestyle”, directed by Jason Lee Parry. Freestyle is a nod to the pants we not only love, but make us want to get up and boogie. Without giving too much away, (man, I really want to spill the beans…) we are giving you a sneak peek at a few behind the scenes photos shot on location in Los Angeles, as well as interviews with four of the dancers. Check it out below and be sure to circle back on Monday for the premiere!

Tell us a little something about yourself.

I was raised in the British Virgin Islands but now based in New York. At 3am, VICE is my go-to spot — either to watch Noisey, Vice Shorts, or Hamilton’s Pharmacopeia. I’m a diehard Tupac fan who likes to cook at weird times of the night and work out in the morning.

How does dance allow you to express yourself?

Dance is a serotonin amplifier, and so I like to head to the bathroom, speaker in hand, because it’s the most secluded place I can go, and turn the music up LOUD. Expressing myself wholeheartedly through movement that make me feel not only comfortable, but free.

True or false: you dance when no one is watching.

True. I dance 24/7 when I’m at home by myself.

What song do you have to dance to? Like, you just can’t sit still when it comes on?

Whenever “Faneto” by Chief Keef comes on I go absolutely wild. I can never hear that song and stay still.

Do you find a sense of freedom in freestyle dance?

As a member of MOSH PITS at every concert I’ve ever been to, yes. It frees the soul and allows you to just simply wild out.

If you could star in any music video ever made, which would it be?

Hands down, THRILLER! Who wouldn’t want to be a bloodthirsty dancing zombie in the middle of the night, who scares people with Michael Jackson? The choreography is so in-sync, and the prosthetics and makeup with visual effects for this music video in the 80s was never before done.

What does “being free” mean to you?

Being able to act, think, and speak as you please because no one is alike and diversity is what makes us unique.

Arielle Vandenberg

Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I’m a Cali girl through and through. (I spend my free time) watching Friends for the 70th time… I wonder if Ross and Rachel will ever hook up!?!

What do you want our readers to know about you?

I have a very sensitive side. It’s just under my butt, and right above my knee!

How does dance allow you to express yourself?

It allows all the happiness and excitement inside of me to surface. Letting it out feels incredible!

True or false: you dance when no one is watching.

TRUE.

What song do you have to dance to? Like, you just can’t sit still when it comes on?

Justin Bieber — Sorry! FOREVER AND EVER.

Do you find a sense of freedom in freestyle dance?

Every day. I dance when I’m getting ready to go to a meeting. I dance in the car. I dance in grocery stores… and that’s all because I can and I love it. That’s freedom!

If you could star in any music video ever made, which would it be?

Usher’s “Nice & Slow”… I just want Usher to dance up on me! LOL

What does “being free” mean to you?

Being happy in your skin! Being you and loving it!

Larsen Thompson

Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I was born and raised in Southern California – Thousand Oaks. In my free time I like being with friends/family, playing soccer, and watching Netflix. I am a dancer, model, and actress who wants to inspire and motivate others to believe in themselves and achieve their dreams/goals.

How does dance allow you to express yourself?

Dance is an outlet and a way of expressing myself through movement. Whether I’m angry, happy or sad, I can express my emotions through the art of dance.

True or false: you dance when no one is watching.

True – especially to Musical.ly.

What song do you have to dance to? Like, you just can’t sit still when it comes on?

Any song by Rihanna or Drake… But if I had to choose, definitely “One Dance” by Drake. Once that songs comes on I can’t stop myself.

Do you find a sense of freedom in freestyle dance?

Yes, I feel a sense of freedom when I freestyle because I have no one telling me what to do or how to do it. I am able to be creative, fuse my personal style/fashion, and try different movements to express myself!

If you could star in any music video ever made, which would it be?

Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”.

What does “being free” mean to you?

“Being free” means being able to do, be, and want anything your heart desires. I think we are lucky to live in a country where we have the right to speak and act freely without any fear or hesitation.

Victoria Germyn

Won’t you tell us a little something about yourself?

I’m Swedish/Norwegian, I moved to New York at the end of July 2016. I love to spend time with my friends… just walking around the city inspires me, and I love discovering new places. I love yoga and pilates and taking care of myself. I go to steam rooms a lot and do facemasks and hair cures while I watch Harry Potter in my apartment.. And of course I love to go out and dance or do karaoke and be silly with my friends. I live by my mom’s motto, “the one who laughs the most, wins”. I’m very ok with making a fool of myself and if I say something weird, I’m probably trying to be funny.

How does dance allow you to express yourself?

I love to see people having fun and making them laugh, me dancing does that… lol! :)

True or false: you dance when no one is watching.

All the time.

What song do you have to dance to? Like, you just can’t sit still when it comes on?

Abba and Abba one million times over, and probably anything Swedish rap.

Do you find a sense of freedom in freestyle dance?

All my dance is freestyle. I believe anyone can dance (my friends calls me Bambi on Ice when I dance). Either you’re good and impress/inspire people, or you make them laugh. There are no rules — either way you have a good time, and that’s freedom to me.

If you could star in any music video ever made, which would it be?

I’m going to be completely honest.. I’m not good at watching music videos. I do enjoy them, don’t get me wrong! But somehow I have zero knowledge in this subject. But if I were to be in a music video, it would probably be a super hot one and really funny.

What does “being free” mean to you?

Having confidence.
