LibraLIBRA

September 23–October 22

All year, you’ve been on a quest to grow, courtesy of expansive Jupiter’s stay in your sign. “Go big or go home!” has been your mission statement, and you may be more wrapped up in your own explorations than you are in your relationships, which is unusual for you. This week’s Jupiter-Uranus faceoff is the last of three (the first two occurred on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017), and by now, you might have noticed a theme. Have flaky people, relationship ups and downs, a breakup or an unpredictable partner caused you to swerve off course at times? Do you need more space than usual so you can focus on your personal path? An urge for freedom will tempt you to make a rash move, but don’t overreact. Keep learning about yourself and exploring new avenues in your life, while also allowing people to march to their own beat. If you can’t get those two things onto the same page now, so be it. Breathe through the tension and don’t get caught up in trying to win a battle. Jupiter only visits Libra every 12 years and will be segueing into Scorpio in a couple of weeks, so keep traveling on your path of personal growth. With Pluto wrapping up his five-month retrograde, those deep, dark emotions and memories you’ve been struggling with privately will start to shift. And if your family or home life has been a source of stress, the way forward should become more apparent. Mars and Pluto are working together, giving you a chance to confront a regressive behavior pattern, dive into a big domestic project or make one last push to finish something up. If you face something within yourself under this influence, you should be able to transform it, so be brave! A Venus-Neptune opposition coaxes you to let go of illusions and make sure you’re not being a martyr. If you truly want to help people, selflessness means no invisible strings attached. This is a good time to release a relationship that has already ended, in an effort to heal. A ritual can help you to mark this as an official ending.

ScorpioSCORPIO

October 23–November 21

Growth-oriented Jupiter has been lodged in your release corner this year, teaching you to let go and let god — not an easy concept for control-craving Scorpios to embrace. Jupiter wants you to learn how to suspend disbelief; water your faith, not your fears; and surrender to the divine wisdom of the universe. Consider the possibility that there is method in the madness. Now that Jupiter is moving into its final opposition with anarchic Uranus (the first two happened on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017), your spiritual journey and your everyday life may seem to be at odds again. A sporadic routine and ever-changing circumstances have made you feel like you don’t have a firm grip on your daily reality, and your work and/or health have probably had their share of ups and downs. You’ve found different ways of getting things done, but the allure of escape is surely a distraction. Your compassion for others and your intuition that we’re all connected is leading you to play with your job description and take on a wider array of responsibilities. Your inner and outer lives don’t feel stable and balanced now, so be very mindful of your mental and physical wellbeing. Avoid going to extremes by taking on too much or blowing everything off. It might be time to ask for help. And it’s definitely time to leave the past in the past, because the future is at your doorstep. Your ruler, Pluto, is getting back in gear after his five-month retrograde phase, which could nudge you out of the groove you’ve been wearing in your brain by obsessing (who, you?) So much has been left unspoken, and you may feel more empowered soon to put your deep thoughts into words. You could also feel ready to make a decision, and Pluto’s meetup with Mars in your network zone hints that teamwork will improve your mindset. Chasing after new goals, acting on your ideals and pursuing new interests can shift your perception for the better. A Venus-Neptune faceoff puts you at risk of romanticizing a friendship or feeling disenchanted with a group, and a reality check may be in order. But a loving gesture could be a beautiful result of this transit, too. Open your heart without closing your eyes.

SagittariusSAGITTARIUS

November 22–December 21

In 2017, your ruling planet’s tour of your network zone has widened the circle of people in your life and inspired you to team up instead of setting off on solo adventures. Your squad is as important to you as ever, and yet your desire for freedom is also undeniable. You can accomplish more when you have a team of support around you, but you still want to be an individual with your own personal interests, creative contributions and a love life of your choosing. Just because you’re happy to be surrounded by people you find stimulating doesn’t mean you’re okay with the idea of no longer standing out as a singular person. This week’s Jupiter-Uranus faceoff is the last of three; the first two took place on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017. You may be dating someone unexpected, and your friends haven’t given him or her the stamp of approval. Or perhaps you’re dealing with a messy dilemma that involves heightened emotions among your crew. You can step back and take a break, but don’t sever ties when the planetary energy is this tense. And edit yourself if you start spouting off — no matter how over the top someone else is acting! Pluto is finishing his retrograde, so you could start to feel more in control of your finances or feel your self-esteem coming back to life if it’s waned. Despite your natural glass-half-full outlook, this heavyweight planet has produced some anxiety around stability, security and self-sufficiency. Your resources are changing, and focusing on how you’ll provide for yourself — not if — will help to alleviate worries. A Mars-Pluto collab queues you to take action on a goal. When you act, you’ll reinforce a growing sense of self-empowerment. Mercury and Venus are in your ambition angle, feuding with Saturn and Neptune respectively, so there may be moments when you doubt your ability to succeed. Use these pauses to discipline your thinking, break your plans down into steps and remind yourself that higher-ups are only human. You’ll flourish doing creative work from home — or on your home.

CapricornCAPRICORN

December 22–January 19

Your ambition has been off the charts in 2017, due to Jupiter’s inflationary influence, and you’ve benefited from your zeal to assume a higher profile. Chasing after personal success has been exhilarating, but at times, your family or home life has been an emotionally charged distraction. As much as you may have achieved out in the world lately, achieving a comfortable balance between your professional and personal lives has probably been more of an uphill battle. Your aspirations could have an effect on your living situation (e.g. a job that requires you to relocate), while domestic instability can curtail your pursuit of a goal (perhaps a family member has compelled you to make up for their inconsistent behavior). You prefer order and control, but Jupiter’s oppositions with Uranus — occurring on December 26, 2016; March 3, 2017; and September 27–28, depending on your time zone — have instigated an urge to go off script. You’re tempted to do what you need to do in order to break away from the past and soar into the future you envision. But with all that high flying, you need a cozy nest to return to, and disruptive Uranus hasn’t allowed you to get too comfortable. If you’ve experienced unsettling mood swings, look for insights in your emotional state rather than trying to force it into submission. You may need to unpack old baggage to lighten your load. Avoid hasty decisions and actions now, especially with Pluto resuming forward motion in Capricorn after a five-month retrograde phase. Your identity is transforming, and you’ve burrowed deep underground in order to grapple with this very private process and do some soul-searching. Now, you’ll begin to feel ready to put the wheels in motion, making changes that feel right to you. An alliance between Mars and Pluto endorses taking a risk in the name of personal growth. Pursue new experiences, fight for a noble cause, broaden your mind — such actions can have a profound positive impact on you. If you’re drawn to someone different this week, be careful not to put them on a pedestal. It may take imagination or empathy to see the connection between you and the real person, but it shouldn’t take a blurry lens.

Aquarius

AQUARIUS

January 20–February 18

Jupiter’s expedition through your journeys-and-beliefs corner has led you on a search for more meaning in your life and given you the courage of your convictions. You’re branching out in an effort to learn more about the world, and in the process, you’re becoming a more conscious being. But Jupiter’s faceoffs with Uranus (December 26, 2016; March 3, 2017; and this week) have generated mental strain or disagreements. Resist an impulse to go off on a rant, no matter how right you may be and no matter how well aimed your words may sound to you. There’s so much going on in your head, and you could be worn out from questioning things that you previously took as givens. You might be hopeful about putting the pieces of the puzzle together one minute and going back to the drawing board the next. You can’t account for all the variables to make a decision that sticks, and the pace of your thoughts and your daily life may be agitating you. Take deep breaths! It’s best not to jump to conclusions or speak out until this urgent energy subsides. Pluto is coming out of reverse after five months of backtracking, and that shift will trigger more rumblings in your subconscious. You need peace and quiet to soothe your soul. Work on forgiving others (and yourself!); relinquishing a toxic pattern; addressing a gnawing sense of dread; processing a past loss; and identifying the people who undermine you and the ways you undermine yourself. Mars is in sync with Pluto, dropping hints that boldly facing your demons will pay dividends, in the form of empowering psychological transformation. March into the tunnel of painful emotional turmoil and emerge into the light of healing and rebuilding. If you get close to someone now, it’s bound to be an intense experience, and if you focus on a passion project, you’ll be able to work hard and see it through to the end. But a Venus-Neptune tug-of-war suggests a lack of clarity about what you need—or a fear of what you lack or might lose — will color intimacy. If you’ve given your heart to someone who drains you or causes you to doubt your worth, reevaluate the relationship as it is, not as you wish it would be.

Pisces

PISCES

February 19–March 20

It’s tempting to make a quick decision that affects your finances this week when Jupiter in your sharing sector faces off against Uranus in your resources zone, but you shouldn’t allow yourself to rush into anything. Of course, an unanticipated expense could throw you for a loop, forcing you to cover it somehow. This is the last of three such oppositions (the first two took place on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017), so maybe you’ve noticed a theme already. Are you unsure of your ability to ride out financial ups and downs? Have you put your hopes into a partnership to provide security? If you’re anxious about providing for your own needs, it’s natural to look to outside sources such as your significant other’s income, a loan or a tax refund. Thanks to Jupiter’s beneficence, you’ve been able to attain support, but it’s also important to be flexible. Reallocate your resources and shuffle your priorities when necessary; make sure you’re tapping into all your unique talents to boost your earning power; pick yourself back up when your self-esteem dips; tweak your requirements when called for; and allow your personal values to progress. If you’ve been grappling with independence versus codependence, aim for a good balance of self-reliance and sharing. With Pluto powering forward in your network house on the same day, you could start to get a changing friendship or challenging group effort back on track. Team Pisces has been evolving, sometimes painfully, but hopefully you’re figuring out which connections to fight for and which have run their natural course. Move past power struggles, competitive comparisons and gossip. Reconstruct a circle of people who have your back. Mars is joining forces with Pluto, favoring collaborations, especially ones that will help to change the lives of others. There’s tremendous power in shared endeavors, so make them count! A Venus-Neptune opposition attracts you to people whom you view through the lens of your ideals — and vice versa. If you’re harboring illusions about self-sacrifice, saving someone or being rescued, challenge yourself to look at the relationship more clearly. You could enjoy a beautiful romantic, spiritual or emotional experience. Self-awareness will enable you to put it in context.

Aries

ARIES

March 21–April 19

Even if a relationship or collaboration is going really well, your need for autonomy has popped up periodically, due to rebellious Uranus in Aries going toe-to-toe with growth-oriented Jupiter in your partnership angle on December 26, 2016; March 3, 2017; and this week. Jupiter has probably persuaded you to make a commitment, as it’s been showering blessings on that area of your life. You may have recognized that getting serious with someone—or pairing off in your pursuits — has been good for you. But you’re still an independent sign with a very restless planet paying you an extended visit. Too much togetherness or accepting more obligations to others will make you feel fenced in, so take a breather and go off and do your own thing if you want to. Better a break than a breakup now, because you’re likely to regret your haste later. It feels like you need to make a big change, but hold off. There’s also a chance that you’ll jump into a relationship too quickly and wonder what you were thinking soon after. What you’re really questioning is whether you can go down a path with another person and grow as a unit while still maintaining your own identity. You might also be so impatient for things to be different that you’re looking to other people to be catalysts for change — and that interdependence makes you uneasy. Don’t run for the hills! Pluto is doing a U-turn in your ambition angle after five months off the grid, creating tremors in your career or life direction. You’ve been struggling to find your way, and it may seem like more options are closing off than opening up. But if you pay close attention to the evolution of your goals and understand that you can’t go back but can only move forward, you’ll be able to align yourself with the slow shift that’s taking place. Thanks to a Mars-Pluto alliance, diligent labor will get you back on track and make you feel more in control of your destiny. You also need to feel like you’re being useful and creative, so let your imagination and the spirit of service inform your work.

Taurus

TAURUS

April 20–May 20

Although you crave stability and aren’t big on change, with devil-may-care Uranus sneaking around in your subliminal corner, there’s a small part of you that wouldn’t mind if everything didn’t go exactly according to plan. Thanks to no-boundaries Jupiter in your productivity zone throughout 2017, you’re juggling a ton of tasks and may daydream of getting off the hamster wheel to pursue alternative interests — or just rest! You’re doing, doing, doing and could use a break to just be. The last of three Jupiter-Uranus oppositions occurs this week (the first two were on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017), and you might feel stressed enough to quit your job or stubborn enough (an infamous Bull characteristic!) to keep going until you burn out. Treat this faceoff like a wellness wake-up call and strive for better mind-body-spirit balance. Take an honest look at any loss of concentration or compulsive behavior and ask yourself what it’s really about. Honor the signals your body sends you. Are all those espresso shots you rely on to keep you going throughout the day keeping you from getting a good night’s sleep? Try a few revitalizing yoga poses as an afternoon pick-me-up. Does your back hurt from hunching over a computer? Use a standing desk or get up and walk around for a few minutes every hour. You get the idea: A lifestyle makeover would be right on time! Pluto is getting back up to speed after five months of backspinning in your perspective house, so the big picture will begin to fall back into place. If you’ve had a crisis of faith or feel like you’ve lost the thread, you’ll become bolder about putting something on the line in order to have powerful learning experiences. Mars in your joie de vivre sector is vibing with Pluto, prompting you to go after what makes you happy and get yourself back in the swing of things. Expressing yourself confidently — especially if the point is to bring about change in the world — will be totally worth it. Venus-Neptune discord hints at the possibility of romanticizing a friendship or trouble aligning personal pleasure and group interests. Tap into your practical nature, and brush illusions aside.

Gemini

GEMINI

May 21–June 20

Your love life and social life may not be drama-free zones when over-the-top Jupiter goes head-to-head with unpredictable Uranus this week. Don’t make any sudden moves because this faceoff tends to spark extremist impulses. That’s because both these planets are ready to go out on a limb and shake things up in the name of freedom. You’re on a quest for personal fulfillment and may get an itch to rebel against group pressures in order to express who you are. You might draw a line in the sand with friends over a romantic relationship or identify with a different set of people due to the fact that your interests are changing. Maybe your patience for others’ quirks and foibles has worn thin. You want the latitude to choose your own lovers and squad and might do something drastic to assert that right. Or you could pull away from someone if you rushed into a friendship or affair. Unreliable pals might drive you to do as you please and not worry about how it affects others. Given your need for variety and stimulation, is it possible that the on-and-off relationships, hot-and-cold feelings and up-and-down group dynamics are partly your own doing? Are you rocking the boat to keep boredom at bay? Do you want to be able to drop in and out of people’s lives but still expect them to be your rock? Moderate rebalancing between personal and social spheres can calm your nervous energy for now. Make sure you’re giving people the same liberty you require, and don’t swing at curveballs. Pluto is plowing forward after a five-month retrograde spell, bringing issues around intimacy, trust, sharing, investing and merging into clearer focus. A close relationship, contract, loan or collaboration should come out of limbo and start to move ahead, but probably with some needed alterations. Thanks to a Mars-Pluto convo, working on your home, partnering with — or confronting — a family member, facing the past or dealing with your hidden anger can all lead to serious transformation. Venus’s faceoff with Neptune warns against putting authority figures on a pedestal and entertaining thoughts of effortless success. Make peace with where you are at this moment in your life without losing sight of higher aspirations.

Cancer

CANCER

June 21–July 22

With too-much-is-never-enough Jupiter camped out in your family-and-home angle this year, you may have said yes to everything in an effort to be a good daughter, model mother or caretaker to your squad. This is the part of the chart that’s naturally associated with Cancerian matters, so chances are you’ve been happy to help. Your living situation may also be overwhelming you — for instance, if you’re planning a big move or letting too many people crash on your couch. Jupiter is dueling with Uranus for the third and final time (they went at it on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017), pulling you between your personal and professional lives until you feel ready to snap. If you have too many balls in the air, go ahead and drop one or two, but don’t send them all sailing. Ask for help, and also step up your self-care routine. (If you don’t have one, there’s no time like the present!) You could be put in the middle of a parental conflict, in which case you shouldn’t feel compelled to pick sides. You need peace and quiet and a cozy nest to relax in. Sudden developments in the outside world or family drama will tempt you to hide under the covers, but don’t go to extremes. Resist urges to rebel against authority and to jump off your career path when it takes an unexpected turn. Don’t shy away from setting challenging goals; just stay flexible if the road to achieving them doesn’t look exactly like you thought it would. Pluto is finishing up his five-month retrograde period, which could regenerate a relationship, help you to see the way forward with someone or enable you to shift the dynamic between you and others. Are you giving too much power away or projecting your most vexing qualities onto people? Mars is gelling with Pluto now, so frame your thinking in terms of what you can do to change things in your relationships, and initiate an honest, direct dialogue about it. Venus’s tango with Neptune alludes to a yearning for escape, and you might make more of a conversation or encounter than it merits. But a natural, empathic connection or transcendent aesthetic, cultural or spiritual experience is possible during this transit.

Leo

LEO

July 23–August 22

This week features the final faceoff between Jupiter in your thinking-and-talking corner and Uranus in your journeys-and-beliefs house. The first two happened on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017, and you may have already noted the themes they’ve presented. Thanks to Jupiter, you’re expressing yourself more freely, connecting with a wider range of people and maintaining an open mind, while Uranus has prodded you to get out of your comfort zone, continue to learn about the world and get excited over new experiences and ideas in the name of progress. That’s all good, but the tension between these two highflyers can overstimulate you, filling you with nervous energy. You’ll be tempted to make a snap decision, get up on your soapbox or set off on a wild goose chase. Before you blurt out anything that begins with “No offense, but…” or ends with “Just saying,” hit mute! Reread what you wrote before sending or posting, and maybe even sleep on it. If your brain is on overload, try stream-of-consciousness writing just for yourself. You may feel like exercising your right to free speech, but remember that others have the same right. You could get into a war of words if you’re not careful. Take the high road, no matter how lonely it is up there! It might seem like the rules in the game of life keep changing, and you could be itching to make a bold move to keep up. A Mars-Pluto collab gives you a productive outlet for that impetus. Pluto is edging ahead after five months in reverse, helping you to feel more in control of your daily life. Changes in your health, your job or your routine have seemed to be out of your hands, and now you’ll have a better sense of how to improve your quality of life and your wellbeing. Stress may be sapping your vitality, and you need to listen to what your body is telling you. It’s the vehicle that carries you through life, so treat it with great care. Take action that shows you value yourself. You might also demonstrate an aptitude that allows you to do different work than you’ve been doing. Tap into your talents!

VirgoVIRGO

August 23–September 22

You might find communication with family or someone close to you difficult this week when Mercury in Virgo skirmishes with Saturn and Uranus. Pull your thoughts together before you speak, and give someone space if they need it. Venus in Virgo is facing off with Neptune, suggesting that deception or illusion could play a role in attraction. Take off the rose-colored glasses if someone appears too good to be true and use your discerning judgment. You should also be careful not to sacrifice too much in an effort to hold onto someone. An artistic or spiritual connection is favored under this influence. Avoid reckless spending when excessive Jupiter locks into the last of three oppositions with shoot-from-the-hip Uranus (this cycle dates back to December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017). You might be tempted to back out of a deal or pull away from someone — or another person may suddenly give you the cold shoulder. You’re learning to provide for yourself and feeling optimistic about growing your finances and/or your resources, and your self-esteem is in a good place. With extra emphasis being placed on your needs, the idea of counting on outside resources or trusting someone enough to pool your resources might not seem like a safe bet. Mine and ours are at odds, as your quest for security could be threatened by the variables that others introduce. A thirst for independence may drive you to only want to invest in yourself. Maybe you don’t need someone as much as you used to, and there’s friction between you as a result of this changing dynamic. Sharing can be much dicier than making do on your own, but oppositions are all about finding the right balance! Pluto does an about-face after five months of backtracking, pushing your feelings to the surface. Drama might arise in your personal life, and you’d do well to wait it out rather than reacting. A romantic connection, a physical attraction, your creative expression, your relationship with a child or the ways you find joy in your life are undergoing a course correction. Mars in Virgo is in sync with Pluto, indicating you have the power to do something that will transform this part of your life for the better.
