3 Things To Do Today

Because Sundays are for rejuvenation…

To break the monotony of my usual Sunday cycle, I started off by telling myself this: You are a beautiful, hard-working, selfless being, and you deserve this time. Treat yourself.

So I did. Three things, every Sunday, for myself. I’m sharing them to give y’all some ideas, and hopefully inspire you to take a day off — completely — and cater to your needs. Follow along with this series if you feel like your “you” time is missing.

Cooler Closet.

I woke to flurries this morning. So it’s time to pull out those chunky knits and bundle up. My closet space is limited, so I have to store seasonal clothes up in my attic. Set out some time this morning and grab your jackets, sweaters, and accessories out of storage. Pack up those warmer weather items and reorganize your drawers and closet to make your weeks run a bit smoother. Every year I like to treat myself to one or two really great sweaters. This mustard turtleneck is my new go-to.

Scenic Route.

Grabbing brunch or visiting friends today? Make sure to take the scenic route. I’m surrounded by fiery burgundy, deep umber, and burnt oranges. The crisp air is cleansing. If you live in a warmer climate, opt for the longer trip anyway — the fresh air will do you good, and traveling new routes may have you bump into something beautiful you never knew you were missing.

Be Thankful.

Though we should be thankful every month, I find myself more during November. For a quick little DIY, and fun project to carry throughout the month, create a thankful jar. Grab a mason jar, and scribble “give thanks” on the front. Each day, scribble something that you are thankful for. I find jotting down positivity to be rewarding. When Thanksgiving arrives, set aside some time to read through the jar. I like doing this activity alone, to help me reflect, but it also can be fun with a group. Include housemates, or take it to work and have your co-workers join in on the fun.

I’m challenging you to clear your schedule today and do 3 things for yourself. You work your butt off, and deserve some time for yourself. If you try this out, let me know how it went, and if you feel rested and rejuvenated, let’s keep this up.

Looooovvvveeeee this! After working in my shop everyday I had always dreampt of closing it on sundays as I grew up within a “lazy sunday” household. Then I discovered this blog and that was all it took to convince me I “had” to do it! After 5 years, I finally closed on Sundays! Im on my 2nd Sunday and loving it. The improvements that 1 “me” day have had on my life so far are amazing!! Thank You so much for the motivation!
