Save The Date: 3 Valentine’s Date Ideas

Make your V-Day all about the love you share…and invest in easy, inexpensive moments.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and, if you’re anything like me, might have procrastinated a bit.

Every one of my friends is celebrating at a swanky restaurant, and you know what? This year, that’s just not my speed. I’m up for trying something different — exploring, learning, and relaxing with the one I love. So, I finally buckled down and came up with 3 ideas that would be fun for both of us.

Visit a museum.

Every city is full of them. In Pittsburgh, I have the Warhol, the Carnegie, and the Mattress Factory. When’s the last time you took inventory of all the beautiful art in your city? There are so many cool installations popping up unexplored. On holidays, some museums will host late-night showings with bubbly. What’s more romantic than walking along halls adorned with beautiful art while sipping some champagne?

Take a class together.

Learning something new with your partner is a blast. Wake up and try out a new yoga class together at a cool studio in town. Or maybe some cooking lessons are in order? I’ll be testing out a French bakery down the street. Taking a cooking class is a fun way to learn new techniques in the kitchen, while also enjoying the meal you cooked together.

Hang Low.

Need a night off together? Same. Set up flowers, light the fire, and make some DIY  face masks. Find an old vintage movie and order some Chinese take-out. Sometimes a carefree night doing nothing but enjoying time together and relaxing is just what our relationship needs.

Keep the date a surprise or put these three dates in a hat with your partner, and be spontaneous. I hope you have a Valentine’s Day full of lots of love.

Ah, I wish Valentine’s Day wasn’t on a working weekday! A night in will be the only possible thing for me and my boyfriend that day, after getting home from our full-time desk jobs!
