The Numinous x FP: Full Moon Ahead

Your go-to prep for the next full moon… How can setting some clear boundaries, for yourself and others, help you find your natural flow? What conditions can you create in your daily life, to help you get down with your fairy dream team on demand?

In astrology, each sign has a “partner” in the sign that sits opposite it in the Zodiac wheel. Circling the cosmos in twos, opposite signs operate as a mirror, both reflecting back and balancing each other’s innate qualities. We get to experience the energies of this dance each and every full moon, as the Sun in one sign sits directly across from the Moon in its opposite — shining its full beam onto the entire surface of the Moon, amplifying the emotional currents at play.

This month, we have the Sun in dreamy Pisces, blurring boundaries and fueling the desire to transcend, to escape from the mundane realities of life (not to mention its complex emotional messes) and play away with the fairies. And in the opposite corner, on Thursday 3/1, we have a Full Moon in Virgo — the dutiful play-school assistant to Pisces’ easily-distracted and super-imaginative child, tasked with putting some order around our creative play.

It’s a tricky mix to master! Of all the pairings of the Zodiac, on the surface, the Pisces/Virgo axis can seem the most at odds, working with the conflicting energies of order (Virgo) and creative chaos (Pisces), like trying to catch a slippery fish and teach it how to tap-dance!

But think again, about how these same Pisces fishies, when swimming at speed with their fam through the waters of the deep blue sea, self-organize into schools that appear as fluid as they are perfectly choreographed.

Virgo can get a bad rap for being rigid, righteous, and too attached to the rules. But this is because Virgo understands better than any sign that there is a natural order to life. That when we get super clear about our role, show up and perform it diligently, and with integrity, is when everything falls into place.

 The 3/1 Full Moon in Virgo is asking you to pay attention to the details. To get conscious about where you’re inclined to let things slide, for the sake of what seems like an easier life (but which often just creates another mess).
