3 Things For A Nurturing Sunday

To break the monotony of my typical Sunday, I started off by telling myself this: You are a beautiful, hard-working, selfless being, and you deserve this time. Treat yourself.

So I did. Three things, every Sunday, for myself. I’m sharing them to give y’all some ideas, and hopefully inspire you to take a day off — completely — and cater to your needs. Follow along with this series if you feel like your “you” time is missing.

Morning Ritual.

It may be darker in the morning, but Spring brings with it endless renewal. Restart your morning routine. Set the alarm next week at 6am. Catch those citrus-colored sunrises and breathe deeply to the sound of baby birds chirping. It’s easy to get into the habit of sleeping in when it’s darker out, so jump-starting a new morning ritual just might do you some good.

Drink Veggies.

Ingest some self-care, and a nice dose of daily vitamins. Throw some celery, cucumber, carrot, turmeric, and fresh lemon into the juicer. To me, this juice shouts spring, and wakes me up from within. I try sipping one daily and, ever since I started, my skin has had a little extra glow.

Grow.

The beginning of April is the perfect time to get some seeds started for early spring planting! Head over to your local nursery today and ask what they recommend based on your specific climate. I just began my tomato and pepper seeds indoors, and will transfer them outside after the last frost. Spring is all about new growth, and this is the best way to get the party started.

I love spring planting! Too bad plants always seem to die under my care, haha.

This was such a beautiful simplistic but nurturing ritual. I enjoy waking up at 6 am every morning. On weekends, I allow myself to wake more naturally. I like to light some candles, drink some tea, and give back to myself by honoring my thoughts and emotions through journaling. I definitely would like to add some greenery into my day to day though. Thanks for sharing!
