Better Together: Styling Tips for Pairing Your Shoes/Pants

The skinny on what pant silhouettes work best with some of our favorite footwear…

Our Style Director took some time to share with us a few key styling pair-ups…namely, bottoms and shoes. Read on to get her thoughts on:

The Jumpsuit:

A jumpsuit tends to be paired back to sneakers, but this month we LOVE dressing up our Lee Union Coverall to give it some edge. It’s the perfect piece you can take from day (with a sneaker) to night with just a simple black heel. The unexpected date night look covered, one and done!

The Crop Flare:

This new pant shape is perfect as we gear up our fall wardrobe. I like this silhouette because it feels like a modern take on the traditional flare. Our Liv Crop Flare is ultra flattering because of its high waist and accentuates all your curves. Pair it with a heeled boot to elongate your legs. The Vegan Midtown Boot is the perfect boot to try it out!

The Boyfriend:

The tried and true denim shape that we never cease to love… Try pairing it back to a ballet flat or loafer to make this ultra relaxed fit feel a bit more femme. It’s a no-fuss combo, perfect for days when we can’t be bothered with tying up laces or putting on heels. Complete the look with a cozy sweater like our Parfait Pullover Sweater, a must-have for fall.

The Slim Straight:

This 90s trend isn’t going anywhere. The slim straight denim silhouette is great because its leg shape and slightly wider leg opening pairs perfectly with your favorite combat boot. I love a “slim straight leg” shape paired with lace-up boots vs a skinny because, AGAIN, it makes your legs look longer!! Try it out — I promise you will love it! Complete the look with a graphic tee and cozy cardigan. This weatherproof outfit will make getting out in the rain just a bit more bearable!

The Skinny:

Night out look– covered. I love the Vegan Suede Skinny because it can dress up anything with minimal effort required, especially when paired with our West Side Western Boot.  I love this combo because western has proven to be a HUGE trend and will continue to be throughout fall.  The Skinny is so, so flattering — especially if you have curves!  The high rise and bit of stretch hugs in all the right places. Try completing the look in an understated way with a casual tee or sweater. And if you need another layer, you can’t go wrong with a denim jacket or blazer!
