How to Revive Your Hair for Spring

A four-step plan to get your strands soft, shiny and healthy again (your scalp will be happy, too)… Consider this the tress-relief we all need right now.

If you’re reading this, congrats — you’ve survived most of winter. Spring will be here in juuuust a few weeks. Having endured the bitter cold weather and whipping winds, your hair is, no doubt, showing the effects — it’s almost impossible to come out of this season without split ends, fading, dryness and scalp itchiness.

So let us come to the rescue with a four-step routine designed to heal your strands and give you a fresh start for spring. It begins with a strengthening scalp treatment and then moves into deeply nourishing elixirs to restore shine, volume and health to your mane. Consider this the tress-relief we all need right now.

Step 1: Detox your scalp.

Infused with a zesty blend of ginger and ginseng, Briogeo’s Blossom & Bloom Volumizing Spray increases blood flow and healthy circulation to the scalp. It’s like hitting the reset button, which encourages new follicle growth, so your hair can grow in at its thickest and strongest. Just mist this tonic through clean, damp hair, focusing on the roots.

Step 2: Seal in moisture.

If there ever was a time to reach for a deeply hydrating hair mask, now is it. Voir’s Rhythm of the Rain Hair Masque is loaded with natural butters, plant extracts and oils to leave your strands silky and shiny. For an extra therapeutic fix, work it through damp hair and wrap your head in a hot towel (this helps the ingredients penetrate better) for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse out.

Step 3: Keep it shiny.

To prolong the benefits of your mask, you need a good daily shampoo and conditioner. R+Co’s Atlantis Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner is designed to undo the effects of the environmental elements, replenishing parched strands without weighing them down.

Step 4: Repair split ends.

Winter is the worst for split ends, which can travel up the length of your hair, leading to frizz and frayed pieces all over. Fix the damage with a soothing application of Playa’s Ritual Hair Oil, which is enriched with a weightless blend of coconut and botanical oils (apricot, kukui) that sink into your ends, without any grease residue or silicone. Pat on any areas that need love. As an added bonus, this remedy helps shield your strands from UV damage — so when the sun comes out from the clouds, you’ll be ready for it.
