Office Style: Meet Diana

Do movies dictate your personal shopping list? They do for Diana, our FP One Coordinator.

“I grew up watching old movies. They transported me to a world of glamour and fashion, thanks to the likes of Sophia Loren, Audrey Hepburn and Goldie Hawn. I realized then that your wardrobe helps to reflect who you are. People have said I am an old soul, a free spirit. My personal style reflects that and is fluid, a tangled mix of 60s, 70s, and 90s inspiration (yes, I skipped the 80s). That’s why I chose to list a few movies to help share my personal style:

Butterflies are Free:

Minimal wardrobe in this flick, but the big hair (thanks mom) and carefree style secured its spot on the list.

FP Wishlist: Daisy Island Maxi Dress, Adella Bralette

Scarface:

The white suits, slip dresses, and wide-brim hats are my aspirational vacation wardrobe.

FP Wishlist: The Axel Set

Bonnie and Clyde:

Cult fashion film with simple silhouettes, knits, and midi skirts. These have been staples for my throw-on fall/winter looks that can easily be set apart by a hat or scarf.

FP Wishlist: Margot Slouchy Beret, Galloway Silk Print Scarf

Uptown Girls:

I’ve never been afraid to dress in what makes me happy, and what makes me feel confident, even if that means my outfit is entirely made up of statement pieces.

FP Wishlist: FP One Eyelet Mini Skirt, Rialto Jean Project Hannah Denim Jacket

Empire Records:

Music, angst, and fashion. This coming-of-age movie rocks all of the 90s styles that are now back in our lives. I have these boots in black, and am not really sure what I wore before I had them.

FP Wishlist: Dr Martens Leona Platform Ankle Boot

To Have and Have Not:

Sets like Lauren Bacall’s matching striped blouse and midi skirt are the absolute easiest way to look put together with minimal effort.

FP Wishlist: Normani Bias Skirt, First Date Bodysuit

Almost Famous:

Anyone who knows me knew this was bound to be on the list. Statement sunnies and statement coats. The majority of my closet is jackets, but having lived in Cleveland, Chicago, and Philly, it is usually the majority of my outfit. Nothing but self-validation here.

FP Wishlist: Enchanted Forest Duster, Bettie Ford Oversized Sunglasses

Wearing: the Jealousy Leather Moto Jacket, the FP One Sydney Blouse, and the  Preston Platform Boots

FP One is an exclusive, in-house label. Its designer, Merrie, takes inspiration from her travels around the world to create her line each season.”
