Refresh and Revive Your Skin for Spring — Now

Sun’s out and all you need is this simple routine to reveal your best skin ever.

With warmer days on the horizon, it’s time to undo the blah effects of winter. The path to fresh, radiant skin starts with a few simple rituals. Think: cleaning out pores, removing dull, dry patches and adding in lots of dewy moisture. You can take this routine further — with additional steps — but sometimes sticking to the basics yields more results. There’s less risk of going overboard and creating irritation or mentally slacking off. (You might have noticed how complicated, overly involved rituals have a way of being putting off…and never done).

Consider this four-step purifying routine your easy solution for a smoother, renewed body that you can tackle with #konmari efficiency this weekend.

To-Do: Exfoliate the Smarter Way

Your skin can’t glow until you remove the dulling debris, whether it’s flaky patches or congestion in your pores (yes, this happens on your body). Start with a thorough-but-gentle exfoliating scrub. BajaZen Cocoglow Buff Scrub is a nice choice since it combines hydrating coconut oil with naturally polishing sugar, orange peel and apricot powder for a result that won’t strip or damage skin. Just take a scoop and lightly massage it over all with your hands or Hydrea London’s Honeycomb Sponge — it swells up in the water, creating a large, soft surface that makes it easier to apply your scrub from head to toe in less time.

To-Do: Switch Out Your Heavy Body Cream

Afterward, pat on a non-greasy body moisturizer. Do like the French and go for a “dry” body oil — a staple in European routines that locks in hydration, absorbs quickly and leaves you plenty glowy (not sticky). Pirette Dry Body Oil has a handy spray applicator so you can apply it all over in mere seconds.

To-Do: Get a Closer Shave

Wait a day or two after finishing the above steps to move onto hair removal (which naturally removes another layer of skin). Invest in a quality razor so you don’t have to repeat the process of shaving over and over again, and potentially ruff up your skin or create ingrowns. Sphinx Portable Razor has a compact design that lets you target and get into tricky spots (underarms, ankles). Plus, it comes with a built-in pre-shave balm to prevent any irritation as an added bonus.

To-Do: Protect with Safe SPF

Now that you’re soft and glowy, stay that way with a chemical-free sunscreen. Slather on Simple as That 100% Natural Sunscreen SPF 30, formulated with zinc oxide and antioxidant-rich raspberry seed oil to help fend off the burning effect of UV rays. Another super simple idea: Pull on a chic rashguard and relax under a beach umbrella during peak sun. Your body will thank you.
