Office Style: Meet John

This week’s office style embraces the best of the holiday — the absolute joy and love of family, featuring our Wholesale Analyst and his daughter Zoe.

What did you want to be growing up?

I always loved art and building as a kid. At Free People I get the perfect mix of both — being surrounded by creativity, while building and creating reports to support the business.

Your current position at Free People….

Wholesale Business Analyst.

Proudest work moment:

Working as the demand planner for Best Buy during the release of what is now Taylor Swift’s #2 all-time album, “Fearless.” It was probably the last time the majority of sales were still physical CDs. I forget how many albums she sold that first week, but if you want to talk about forecasting fun, that Tuesday morning reaction to sales and post award lifts were a ball!

How do you balance work and being a dad?

My wife and our support system really make it all happen. I just try my best to help out as much as possible, but scheduling during the week is always crazy! Weekends are all about family time. It’s a team effort, but, like a lot of the moms that work here, my wife does a lot of the heavy lifting to make it all happen.

What’s your favorite thing to do with your daughter?

This past year we have started bringing her to festivals and concerts. Watching her stare in awe at the musician she’s been dancing around the house to is the coolest thing ever.
So far she’s checked off Sheila E., H.E.R, The Roots, Common, Jill Scott and Kids Bop, of course, to name a few.

What did she ask Santa for this year?

Zoe asked Santa for a Barbie Dream House. It’s all about Barbie right now.
