Office Style: Meet Noam

What did you want to be growing up?

As a kid I wanted to become an actress. I never really followed through with that dream — my love to fashion took place.

Your first job – what/ where?

I worked at GAP when they first opened their branch store in Israel. I was 17 at the time. It was my first job in retail.

Toughest obstacle you’ve overcome:

Living in Philly, far across the ocean from my entire family and my friends is probably the most challenging thing I have ever done. 

Your current position at Free People….

I am an Assistant Buyer on the Free People Movement team! 😊

How did you land at FP?

On my first visit to the US, my aunt asked me to pick up an order she made from a small store — Free People — located on NYC’s Upper East Side. I immediately fell in love. I liked everything about it — the stylists, the store. That is when I decided I wanted to someday work for the brand. When I moved to NYC 3 years ago, it was the first place I looked for a job.

What drew you to it?

The positive vibes of the people who worked there. The creativity and uniqueness on every corner. 

Proudest work moment:

Getting here, to Home Office, less than two years after starting at our Rockefeller store was very special for me. 

What advice would you give someone who’d like to be in your role one day?

To keep an eye open for opportunities. To do every single task with a smile and be willing to learn from any experience, even bad ones. Also, to constantly keep an eye open for opportunities.  

Favorite part of working at Free People:

I love the people here. I really like to work and be part of a team, and the feeling that we complete each other.

“Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey.
