Song of the Week: Good Man Down

Young love. Innocent and pure. A young boy searching for the girl he loves… with flowers in his hands and hope in his heart. Estonian band Ewert and the Two Dragons bring a most beautiful tale of boy and girl; of romance in the woods, of searching for your better half, of never giving up. Most of all… finding humor in yourself through the journey.  Read More

Bright Lights Big City

It’s that time of year again. When sparkle and shimmer seem to be the natural state. Piled high accessories and black tights grace your everyday fits, and if at any time a shimmery mini is appropriate, it’s right now. December’s dresses dance in harmony — no matter the matter. Read More

Faces of the Alameda Flea Market: Street Style

Every corner of handmade-craftdom was covered. Artists came from Los Angeles, Portland, San Francisco and all points in between. Walking the rows of this event, you felt the proud representation of the West Coast and all of its talented artistic pioneers. Read More

Blogger Diary: I Dream Of Africa

Africa, how can I repay what you have given me? Your people who radiate with such astounding beauty and light, no matter what their personal life has served on their plate. Sights of deep perseverance and hope give 24 hour goosbumps. Strangers become family in an instant. Human connection is the deepest, most simple ingredient. Forget language barriers, politics, haves and have nots… connecting with an elder of 110 years old, holding hands and smiling souls: that’s it.

Illustrated: The Elements And Our FP Girls

The Elements — believed to mirror the most essential foundations on which all matter is built; Earth, Fire, Air, Water (not pictured here)… and what I like to think of as the fifth element, Spirit.  The fifth element (in both Buddhism and Hinduism) is said to represent that which is beyond the physical or material.  The Spirit goes far beyond our grasping or understanding in a scientific matter, extending to a realm that cannot be measured or quantified.
