These honbachi, or book pots, were created by graphic designers Tokyo Pistol. I really like how they look! I feel like it would be really easy to make one on your own with an old disheveled book, but one perk of buying one from Tokyo Pistol would that the old book you got would be in Japanese! Check out the bindings on the books stacked in the picture! Pretty sweet…

coffee filter prom dress!
Aimee Kick, an aspiring designer from Missouri, created the prom dress above for herself out of coffee filters! I think it looks awesome – I love it! I once made myself a dress out of duct tape for a party – not a very original idea, but it was really fun! If I ever find any pictures of it I’ll post them here, though my duct-tape dress wasn’t half as good as Aimee’s coffee-filter dress! Have you guys ever made clothes out of unusual materials? How did it turn out?

knit a bikini top
I’m really excited to try out this tutorial from ThreadBanger– it shows how to knit your own bikini top! They go along very slowly and explain clearly what to do! The only thing is that there is a quick advertisement in the middle, but it’s worth it because the tutorial is good. If you need a little basic knitting instruction first, check out our learn-to-knit videos here, here, and here!
wordle!
Our friend Lisa at Bazaarvoice, (the company that hosts our product reviews for our site,) used this fun generator at Wordle to make the word collage above. She took all of the product reviews on our website from the last few months or so, and entered them in the generator. The more a word was used, the bigger it appears in the image! It’s pretty fun! Plus, it made a cool visual of what our reviewers are saying.
Use the generator here to make your own word collages! It would be fun to take all the text on your Facebook profile, for example, and see what words come up the most!
brownie burgers & cookie fries
These little brownie burgers and sugar cookie fries are so adorable! And tasty looking! Bakerella has a fantastic tutorial that you should definitely check out if you’re in a baking mood! She even has templates to create the tray and french fry holder! I can’t wait to try it out, maybe this weekend!

hey joe
Ah! I love finding treasures like this on YouTube! Here’s some footage of The Jimi Hendrix Experience playing Hey Joe and Sunshine of Your Love on the old British television show It’s Lulu. It’s pretty clear for being old and on YouTube, and it’s absolutely mesmerizing. Enjoy!
