Inspiring Couple: Meghan Flynn & Jonathan Levitt

Meghan Flynn and Jonathan Levitt live in a beautiful home in the woods in Lincolnville, Maine, where they live predominantly off of the earth. They tend vegetable, herb and flower gardens, collect mushrooms and berries from the surrounding forests and hills, fish for mackerel and squid, and dig for clams by the ocean. Their home is a gorgeous rustic structure, and our catalog team used their property to shoot parts of The Cabin short film and catalog, including shots of the gardens and surrounding forest. Our assistant art director has been friends with Meghan since childhood, and she introduced me to this incredible couple that we knew we had to feature here on the blog. Read More

Instagram To Follow: milesoflight

Instagram is an incredible tool. Personally, I use it mainly to stay in the know with relatives and friends, old and new. But every once in a while I’ll stumble upon an Instagram account of a person I don’t yet know anything about… and I’ll find myself so lost in the gallery that it would be a disservice not to hit follow. By the deep sea, and music in its roar:

A Walk Through The Garden

I recently made a visit to Old Westbury Gardens, which is one of the most beautiful places on Long Island. It’s the former property of a very wealthy family, and it’s now open to the public. You can take a stroll through vine-covered paths, dip your feet into refreshing fountains, and even take a tour through the gigantic antique-filled home. Read More

Adventure #3: Go For A Hike

Throughout the month of July, I’m playing a little game that I’m calling Adventure by Fate, where each week I partake in a different adventure – decided by the roll of a wooden block. For week 3, the block landed on “Go for a hike” – and that’s just what I did! Read More

Winter Cabin Wanderlust

As winter sinks in, I normally long for a vacation somewhere warm and tropical…but this year, I’ve got cabins on my mind. Cozy winter cabins that can only be reached by dirt roads, with no electricity and a fireplace to keep me warm.  Frosty windowpanes that look out into trees as far as the eye can see, rustic decor, and lots of blankets to wrap myself in…snuggling up with the one I love and a cup of hot chocolate, just enjoying the peace and quiet and beauty of nature.
