Every weekend, my Love and I try and get up with the sunrise on Sunday morning… jump on the bike (if weather permits) or in the VW bus… and find a little nook in a coffee shop. A nook where we can read the paper (I know… people do, in fact, still do this by hand), sip on a hot drink, play a game of chess or dominoes, and watch the sun greet the day. We live in Sonoma, where little nooks are everywhere, but none quite like Aquatica. Café Aquatica sits on the cliffs of Highway 1 in Jenner, California. This past weekend, San Francisco residents were graced with quite a gift. West Coast Craft premiered its first year at the Fort Mason center both Saturday and Sunday. Over 150 handpicked beautifully curated vendors displayed their highly skilled craft mediums; perfumers, soap makers, textile artists, home goods and furniture designers, artisan candy crafters… well, you get the gist. Every corner of handmade-craftdom was covered. Artists came from Los Angeles, Portland, San Francisco and all points in between. Walking the rows of this event, you felt the proud representation of the West Coast and all of its talented artistic pioneers. Read More
