you’ve all probably seen an image of photos arranged in a heart shape before… i know it’s been done. i found this one particularly sweet though – i like how it consists of all images of deer. and it got me thinking about other variations you could try this with. i have this one wall in my apartment with nothing on it, so i think i might do something like this but i can’t decide what!
my first inclination was to make a collage of my favorite photos of various places i’ve been… but then i thought this might be a really fun project for the new year – making a collage of photos from the past year. i decided to try it out at work today using some of my favorite images from our 2010 catalogs!
it was really cool just looking back through this year’s catalogs and tearing out my favorite images. i feel like they just kept getting better and better this year – i didn’t think our team could top the august catalog shot in the desert in morocco, but then i saw september and fell in love. and wait till you guys see our january 2011 book – it’s breathtaking.
i don’t know if there’s a certain way to do this that’s easiest, but i started in the middle. it was a little tricky because my images were all different sizes. i wanted the camel image to be at the center because i love it, then i just worked around it, using different image sizes and rearranging them until they formed a heart.
i really like how it came out!

Beautiful!!! Love the simplicity of this project! Thanks!
This came out really good!
I’m moving back to the south, and when I decorate my apartment, this will deff. be one of the things I put in my living room!
love it!! ;-)
this is wonderful. your cataloges are always so flawless and beautiful this is a great idea!
That’s a great idea. I love the photo of the girl with the braided hair, with different colors braided into it. I want to do that with my hair but I have no idea what brand of color to use, or where I can get clip-ins – do you have any tips?
Tina- I read your comment and I too loved the colored hair. :) I went permanent with a turquoise streak but tried the look first with a clip-in called Hi-Lite Long Clip-In Synthetic Hair Extension in turquoise, which I bought at Sall’y Beauty Supply. Hope this helps:)
Ah! I’ve been working on an ongoing collage for a while now made from Free People catalogues. I will send a picture when it’s done.
Hey, I’m also working on a collage. I’m so fan on Free People and I would love to complete my collage with various amazing images from Free People catalogues. But there is no shop in France and no stockist. Please could you tell me how I could get some past issues?
Thanks for caring x
