Blogger Diary: Can You Hear The Music?

It seems like music has been taking over my life lately, and I’m totally ok with it.  Music is pretty much always playing in the back of my mind, a constant presence, maybe just turned down to a quieter volume at times, but lately it is blasting into my ear drums and I can’t seem to satisfy my hunger for more. This past weekend started with going to see a friend play with his band Friday night and ended with listening to records at another friend’s place on Sunday night, envying his collection and kicking myself for not having my own record player. At work I’ve been building out our page on Rdio and working on more music content for the blog. This weekend, I’ll be heading up to Woodstock to check out Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble with guests Mumford and Sons, and then next week I head down to Austin for a few days of SXSW.  Spring and Summer is music’s high touring season, and the shows are slowly filling up my calendar for the next couple of months – Band of Skulls, Dr. Dog, First Aid Kit, Real Estate, Washed Out, Woods… it’s an addiction.

  1. Some of the Aspen FP girls are heading to Leftover Salmon this weekend!! Who couldn’t LOVE Polyethnic Cajun Slamgrass?!?!?

  2. I love this music inspired post, these pictures make me homesick! I can’t wait to see the pictures you snap at SxSW…I’m from the Austin area and seeing them will be like a postcard from home!

  3. I love music just as much as art…which is really saying something! I am constantly jamming out to a sweet tune whether it be country, pop, folk, indie, alternative, rock, whatever! I cannot go a day without music, and it’s like a drug for me, as is art. :)
