What’s On My Coffee Table

I have always loved a coffee table, without it my living area feels kind of empty and lost. Why? Because on it I situate some of my prized possessions for entertainment. The coffee table derives from the tea table and is primarily known as the centerpiece for casual entertainment and usually has seating around it. Mine is a mid-century modern coffee table and is placed between my couch and my TV, a perfect place for casual entertainment, I’d say. As magazines became popular the coffee table became the place where these colorful covers would be displayed for guests to enjoy a beverage and light read. It wasn’t long before the coffee table was accessorized with things like ceramics and vases of flowers.

A coffee table is comforting to me, I love being able to have my favorite magazines, books, candles, crystals, and my favorite porcelain mug and cookies before me as I relax. It is for sure my main centerpiece for casual entertainment. Do you have a coffee table? We would love to know what’s on it.

  1. I currently have a deliciously scented candle that smells like caramel and a beautiful pink glass candy dish…both I got for Christmas…my coffee table is between my Tv and the couch as well…it was handmade by an old friend who is now in my past..

  2. I have a cheetah ottoman as the coffee table in my living room…not much on it since we love to put our feet up. I have a sitting room that has an old wooden crate chest, it’s very old and huge. I have some incense, books, and a couple of elephant figurines which I collect, they are everywhere.

  3. I have a little coffee corner in my citchen with 2 50ies chairs whose upholstery I changed (blood, sweat & tears, I can tell you) and a small white coffee table. Unfortunately I use it only rarely, but I always keep a candle on the table.

  4. hey fp ! when does the new january catalog drop ?? anything special to look forward to ?? cant wait!!!

  5. on my coffee table at the moment is my calvin and hobbes book, my favorite candle (which target stopped carrying! it’s called “be peaceful” – it’s an aromatherapy soy candle – it smells like lavender and eucalyptus – and i’m going to need to track down another one real soon), a tray that i spray painted gold which holds a vintage book on tree identification and a book i made on blurb.com featuring instagram photos from summer 2010. and a glass of wine that i’m nursing :)

  6. Pretty great post. I simply stumbled upon your weblog and wished to mention that I have really loved browsing your blog posts. In any case I’ll be subscribing in your feed and I am hoping you write again soon!
